XRS Manager Bug Fixes and Feature Updates Event Management * When creating a new event, if the event type is STEAM XR Sports or STEAM XR Esports, automatically guide the event setup based on: * Event duration: * 1 to 3 hours * 4 to 6 hours * 1 to 3 days * Estimated participant count. * Automatically calculate and create the required Pod Groups. * Each Pod Group supports: * Maximum of 24 scholars * 8 teams (3 scholars per team) * Example: * 48 participants or more * 128 participants * System automatically creates six Pod Groups and distributes teams appropriately. * Pod Groups should be configured at the Event Level, not at the Organization level, since multiple organizations may participate in the same event. * Add a new Event Type: * School Season * Create a season first. * Then add participating schools, recreation centers, or youth organizations. * Allow standings and scoring across an entire season rather than a single tournament. ⸻ Scoreboard (Currently Leaderboard) * Rename Leaderboard to Scoreboard throughout the system. * Allow filtering by: * Pod Group * Organization * Age Division (Junior, Primary, etc.) * Competition Category * Overall Rankings * Make the Scoreboard simpler with: * Rank * Team * Organization * Total Points * Allow category-specific rankings while still displaying Overall standings. ⸻ Scoring Improvements * Allow users to simply click/tap inside a scoring cell to edit instead of using the pencil icon. * If two users are actively editing a scoring cell, lock that cell from additional users until editing is complete. * Prevent accidental overwriting of scores. * Create a mobile-friendly scoring interface optimized for landscape phone use. * Reduce the number of dropdown menus during score entry. * Replace dropdowns with predictive search fields that allow users to start typing: * Player * Team * Organization * Group * Category ⸻ Roster & Check-In * Allow STEAM Your Dreams administrators to generate a roster packet with: * Unique event verification code * Scholar self check-in without requiring an XRS Manager account * This will simplify large event check-in and eliminate account creation issues experienced during Ocean Bowl Games Nationals. ⸻ Data Management * Add the ability to export an event as a spreadsheet at any time. * Useful if internet service or XRS Manager is temporarily unavailable. * Allows manual scorekeeping with later re-import. ⸻ Player Management * Add global player search. * Search existing player names before creating duplicates. ⸻ Organization & Group Structure * Allow multiple organizations to exist under a single Pod Group. * Example: * Pod Group 3 * Martin Center * Carver Boys & Girls Club * East Rec Center * Lincoln Community Center * Eliminate naming workarounds such as: * GRP3_MC * GRP3_CB * GRP3_EAST The system should naturally support multiple organizations within the same Pod Group. ⸻ Filtering Add filtering throughout the application by: * Pod Group * Organization * School * Recreation Center * Team * Player * Category * Age Division * Overall Rankings ⸻ Summary of Requested Improvements * Rename Leaderboard to Scoreboard. * Automatic Pod Group generation based on event size and duration. * Pod Groups managed at the Event level. * New School Season event type. * Spreadsheet export for offline scoring. * Account-free scholar check-in using verification codes. * Cell locking to prevent score overwrites. * Click-to-edit scoring cells. * Mobile-friendly scoring layout. * Predictive search instead of excessive dropdown menus. * Global player search. * Support multiple organizations within a Pod Group. * Enhanced filtering across all scoring views. * Simplified Scoreboard with Overall and Category-specific rankings. Things to keep in MIND very important! There will be some scope creep because we need this application restructured to fix the current school season and 2027 summer needs now. For instance.. I didn’t mention above.. but we need to be compliant with persons with disabilities for sight, and easy to use, less clicks, changing colors from Light to Dark to see the screen, increasing font sizes, switching between English and Spanish.
