Structural Engineer (Part-Time, Remote)

We are a Wollongong-based (Australia) vertically integrated infrastructure services group operating across construction, remedial works, civil services, property development, and multiple trade divisions. We are building out our engineering capability and are looking for a skilled, detail-oriented Structural Engineer to support our growing pipeline of projects. About the Role: We are seeking a skilled and reliable Structural Engineer to prepare and draw plans in accordance with scopes provided by our Australian Engineer. This is a part-time, remote support role where you will take defined scopes and produce accurate, compliant structural plans ready for review. Typical work includes structural plans for residential and commercial building and development projects, remedial works, and supporting documentation. You will work closely with our engineer, who will provide the scope, direction, and sign-off. Your focus will be on producing precise, standards-compliant drawings and documentation efficiently and to deadline. Key Responsibilities: Draw and prepare structural plans and drawings as per the scopes provided Produce structural detailing, framing plans, footing and slab layouts, and connection details as required Ensure all plans comply with Australian structural regulations and Australian Standards Interpret and work from engineering scopes, sketches, and specifications provided Prepare accurate, clear documentation ready for review and sign-off Make revisions based on feedback Maintain organised records and version control Meet agreed deadlines and deliver consistent, high-quality output Technical Knowledge Required: Australian Standards relevant to structural engineering (including loading, concrete, steel, and timber framing standards) National Construction Code and Building Code of Australia as it relates to structural work NSW building and development requirements and documentation standards Structural detailing conventions and drawing standards used in Australia Requirements: Qualified and/or experienced Structural Engineer Strong understanding of Australian structural regulations and Australian Standards Proficient in preparing and drawing structural plans using industry-standard drafting and design software Excellent written and spoken English communication skills Reliable, detail-oriented, and able to work independently to deadlines Able to accurately interpret and follow scopes provided Desirable: Experience with Australian construction, remedial, or development projects Familiarity with civil and hydraulic or stormwater elements Experience collaborating remotely with an engineering or construction team To Apply: Please submit a proposal through Upwork sharing a brief overview of your engineering experience and qualifications, examples or a portfolio of structural plans you have produced, your familiarity with Australian Standards and NSW regulations, the software you use for drafting and design, and your availability for part-time hours.
