Structural Engineer (PE) - Washington, DC Metro - Residential Renovations - Must be Able to Stamp

Stony Creek Homes is a residential real estate and construction company in the Washington, DC metro area. We're actively building out a 3 unit multi-family conversion in NW and need a DC-licensed Professional Engineer (Structural) to provide independent structural review and problem-solving support alongside our project team. This is hands-on, fast-moving work on a live jobsite — ideal for an engineer who's comfortable in the field, not just at a desk. The project Multi-family conversion, classified Type V-A (1-hour protected), working toward Certificate of Occupancy Mixed structural system: exterior multi-story structural steel frame tied into wood framing, multiple deck/balcony levels Active construction — steel is partially erected, framing is in progress What we need help with Independent review of the issued stamped structural set against field conditions Resolving open structural RFIs and providing/verifying missing connection details (e.g., steel diagonal brace and exterior-frame-to-base-building connections) Evaluating steel-to-wood framing connections (clips, ledgers, top/bottom plate attachments) Assessing a foundation wall condition — spec called for 8 ft of concrete; ~6 ft was poured with wood framing above — and advising on remediation Reviewing truss repair scope and sealed repair details Sheer, point-loading, and dead-load checks (including added ceiling drops on upper decks) We will also be resubmitting drawings to DC so you will be the engineer of record and therefore must hold an active license in DC. We do about 50 projects per year so this will likely turn into a long term relationship.
