Structural Steel Detailer

We fabricate and erect structural steel and miscellaneous metals for commercial, industrial, and residential projects across Ontario. We're looking for a Structural Steel Detailer to produce complete, accurate, shop-ready drawing packages — from IFC drawings through to approved shop and erection drawings — with minimal rework in the shop or on site. This is a production detailing role. You will own your jobs end to end and be accountable for the drawings that hit the shop floor. Responsibilities - Produce 3D models and complete detailing packages: shop drawings, erection/field drawings, anchor bolt and embed plans, bills of material, advance bills, and cut lists. - Detail from architectural and structural IFC drawings, specifications, and connection design criteria; identify gaps, conflicts, and missing information early. - Coordinate connection design with the Engineer of Record and/or the connection design engineer; ensure connections detailed match the sealed design. - Detail structural steel and miscellaneous metals: beams, columns, braces, base plates, lintels, brick angles, embeds, stairs, guards and handrails, ladders, platforms, canopies, and architecturally exposed structural steel (AESS). - Coordinate with adjacent trades and components — open web steel joists, steel deck, precast, - CFS/wood framing, curtain wall, mechanical openings, and elevator/shaft steel. - Generate CNC/NC files and interface with the fabrication shop (beam line, plasma/plate processing) to confirm the model drives production cleanly.
