Structural Engineer Needed for Residential Project – California USA Licensed is seeking an experienced Structural Engineer to provide structural engineering services for a California residential projects. The architectural design and drawings are substantially developed, and I am looking for an engineer who can work collaboratively to prepare the structural design, calculations, details, and drawings required for building permit approval. Attach samples of wood construction drawings, details and structural calculations. Scope of Work The Structural Engineer will be responsible for: Reviewing the architectural construction documents Developing the structural design for the residence Foundation design and calculations Floor and roof framing design, as applicable Shear wall, lateral and seismic design Structural calculations required by the jurisdiction Structural plans, details, schedules, and specifications as required Coordination of structural elements with the architectural drawings Responding to structural plan-check comments through permit approval Signing and stamping the final structural documents and calculations as required Qualifications Applicants should have: Experience with California residential construction Strong knowledge of current California Building Code requirements, including seismic and lateral design Experience preparing structural packages for jurisdictional plan review Use reliable structural engineering calculations software. Ability to coordinate efficiently with an architect Good communication skills and reasonable turnaround times Please include examples of similar residential structural projects, your California license information, anticipated turnaround time, and your proposed fee or hourly rate. This is currently for a single residential project, but I am an active architectural practice and would be interested in establishing an ongoing relationship with a reliable structural engineer for future residential and small commercial projects.
