Systematic Review & Meta-Analysis Methodologist — Medical Research (Ongoing Potential)

We are seeking an experienced medical researcher to collaborate on a systematic review and meta-analysis. The specific clinical topic, research question, and protocol details will be shared with shortlisted candidates prior to contract start. A confidentiality agreement can be executed through Upwork if preferred. Scope of Work Depending on your expertise, the engagement may include: • Refining the research question and study protocol (PROSPERO registration support welcome) • Building a comprehensive, reproducible search strategy • Searching PubMed/MEDLINE, Embase, Scopus, Web of Science, and the Cochrane Library • Defining inclusion/exclusion criteria; title/abstract and full-text screening • PRISMA 2020-compliant documentation and flow diagram • Structured data extraction into a shared database • Risk-of-bias assessment using validated tools (e.g., RoB 2, ROBINS-I, Newcastle-Ottawa, QUADAS-2) • Meta-analysis with assessment of heterogeneity, subgroup and sensitivity analyses, and publication-bias evaluation where appropriate • Publication-quality forest plots, funnel plots, and summary tables • Interpretation of findings and assistance with manuscript drafting and peer-review revisions Ideal Candidate • Prior experience conducting systematic reviews and meta-analyses in medicine • Strong command of PRISMA methodology and Cochrane standards • Experience with biomedical literature databases and citation management • Familiarity with validated risk-of-bias tools • Strong statistical background relevant to meta-analysis (fixed/random effects, I², meta-regression) • Proficiency in R (meta/metafor), Stata, RevMan, or comparable software • Track record preparing research for peer-reviewed publication • Excellent scientific writing and attention to detail Published systematic reviews or meta-analyses are strongly preferred. Fabricated data, fabricated or unverifiable references, and plagiarism are grounds for immediate termination of the contract. All sources must be traceable to indexed, retrievable records.
