AI Systems Tutor

We are looking for an experienced AI engineer who can also act as a practical mentor and teacher. The aim is to learn how modern AI systems actually work by building real projects together, rather than only studying theory or individual tools. The engagement will involve approximately two lessons per week over several months. Each lesson should combine explanation, revision of previous material and hands-on implementation. The learning will cover modern LLMs, APIs, AI-assisted and vibe coding, RAG, agents, MCP, n8n, personal AI assistants, research assistants, local AI models, AI hardware, deployment, security, evaluation and observability. The practical work will centre around three projects: building a personal AI assistant ecosystem called Eggaborg, creating a rigorous academic research assistant for publishing papers, and developing a personal AI PA that can eventually help with email, documents, calendar, shopping and other administrative tasks. The ideal freelancer should have strong practical experience building AI systems and be able to explain why different tools and architectures are used, not simply demonstrate how to click through them. The objective is for the student to become independently capable of designing, building and deploying AI systems rather than becoming dependent on the mentor. This is a long-term part-time mentoring role, expected to involve around two teaching sessions per week, with practical exercises and homework between sessions.
