Summary

About the Role We run a popular baseball website with serious traffic. Our sweet spot is lists and history: greatest players by position, best teams by decade, memorable moments, rankings that start arguments. We already have the content and the audience. What we're missing is personality, and that's the job. To be clear up front, this is not a writing, research, or stats job. You won't dig through box scores or draft articles. You don't even have to type. We've built an in-house tool where you hit a button and start talking. We handle the transcription, cleanup, and editing, then turn it into a polished article published under your name. No typing, no punctuation, no writer's block. If you can hold court about baseball, you can do this job. Here's how it works. We hand you an existing list, say "The 20 Best Shortstops of the 1990s," and you go down the list talking through each one: where you'd rank him, a memory, a stat that still blows your mind, the argument you'd make at the bar. Our editorial team polishes it, and you become the featured author on the post. What You'll Do Record your take on existing list articles. Most are around 20 players or moments. You give your honest take on each one, warm and conversational, no script. Just hit record and talk. Figure about 30 to 60 minutes per article, depending on the length of the list and how quickly you find your groove. Cover the range of baseball history — different eras, teams, and positions. You don't need to be an expert on all of it, but a real fan's perspective on most of it. Become the featured author on the posts you work on. The Commitment We need someone who can consistently turn around at least 10 articles per week. That's the baseline — and honestly, we'd love to find someone who can do 15 to 20, because we have a decent backlog to work through. When you do them is up to you: batch them all at once, spread them across the week, mornings or nights, whatever fits your life. We don't micromanage. But we do need someone dependable who hits that number every week and manages their own schedule without reminders. Who We're Looking For The gift of gab. This is the big one. Hand you a list of 20 players and you can riff on each one, tell a story, take a position, and keep it fun without a script. A genuine love of baseball, especially baseball history. You don't need an encyclopedic memory, but names like Ozzie Smith and Tony Gwynn should mean something to you. Self-directed and reliable. You can hit 10+ articles a week on your own steam. Bonus, not required: a growing social presence. If you're building a baseball Instagram, TikTok, YouTube, or podcast, we'd love to cross-promote. Your name goes on the content, and we'll feature you on our site's about page with a link to your socials. One important note: everything you record is checked for AI. The entire point of this role is bringing a real human voice to our content, so we need your genuine, off-the-cuff take — not something scripted or generated. If you can just talk, you're already doing it right. What's In It For You The easiest content gig you'll find. No writing required. Hit a button, talk baseball, and we do the rest. $13 per completed article. A real platform. We drive serious traffic, so being featured puts your name in front of a large, engaged audience of baseball fans. A byline, a spot on our about page, and cross-promotion to help grow your own following. Ongoing, long-term, friendly team. Details $13 per completed article Minimum 10 articles per week (15–20 preferred — we have a backlog) Fully remote, flexible hours, ongoing To Apply Skip the cover letter. Instead, shoot a quick video of yourself — laptop or phone is fine, nothing fancy. Tell us who you are and why you'd be good at this, then spend 30 to 60 seconds riffing on any baseball list topic you'd enjoy: best players you ever saw live, most underrated pitchers of the 2000s, whatever gets you going. That's basically the job, so it tells us everything. If you make any content — baseball or otherwise — drop a link. Just starting out is fine too.
