Worldwide
Astra Intelligence is an early-stage B2B SaaS platform that helps specialty healthcare organizations (women's health, infusion centers, specialty physician groups) grow referrals and reduce patient leakage using AI-powered field intelligence tools. Our first design partner and customer is a multi-location women's health practice, and we're actively building out our core product. We're looking for a hands-on engineer who can: Understand and maintain our existing codebase (built with AI-assisted development tools) — read code you didn't write, debug it quickly, and keep it running Fix things when they break — be the person who triages and resolves bugs, data issues, and integration hiccups, often under time pressure since customers depend on this daily Serve as our technical liaison to customers — join calls, explain technical issues in plain language, and build trust with non-technical practice staff (office managers, field reps, executives) Advise on architecture decisions as we grow — particularly around data integration with healthcare EHR systems (we currently work with eClinicalWorks) and HIPAA-conscious data handling We're looking for a strong contractor who wants ongoing, dependable work and enjoys both the technical and human sides of running a live product. What You'll Work On Bug fixes and stability improvements on our existing AI/data platform Direct support for our first live customer as we roll out new features Early technical input on connecting to EHR systems (starting with eClinicalWorks/ECW) Data handling practices with patient-adjacent healthcare data (aggregate/practice-level data initially, moving toward HIPAA-ready infrastructure) Ideal Skills & Experience Strong full-stack debugging skills — comfortable reverse-engineering and maintaining someone else's (or an AI's) code Experience in a customer-facing technical role (solutions engineer, technical account manager, support engineer, or similar) Healthcare SaaS, EHR integrations, or HIPAA-adjacent experience is a strong plus, not required Comfortable in a fast-moving, early-stage environment with a single founder making product decisions Clear communicator — able to explain technical issues to non-technical healthcare staff Engagement Details Type: Contract to start (part-time/hourly), with potential to grow into a more structured ongoing role as we add customers Hours: Flexible, but should expect to be responsive during US business hours for customer-facing issues Location: Remote
