Technical Lead — Web & AI Engineer

Quick Overview We’re looking for a Technical Lead who can bridge the gap between business ideas and real software delivery. This is a long-term role inside Hire Brian, a B2B software agency building modern web and AI-powered products for clients. You’ll work directly with the founder and act as a key point of contact for clients—helping shape ideas into clear, buildable software requirements. This is not a pure coding job. It’s more about understanding, communication, structure, and technical leadership. We’re building a long-term core team that can grow with us over the next several years. What This Role Is About You’ll be the person who helps turn messy ideas into structured software plans. You’ll join early client conversations, ask the right questions, identify gaps, and make sure everyone understands what is being built before development starts. You’ll also stay involved during delivery to help clarify requirements and keep projects aligned. What You’ll Be Doing * Leading client discovery and technical discussions * Understanding business goals and translating them into software requirements * Asking smart questions to uncover missing or unclear details * Identifying risks, scope issues, and technical constraints early * Explaining technical options in a simple, client-friendly way * Turning conversations into structured notes and actionable requirements * Coordinating with developers and designers * Supporting projects during development when clarification is needed * Managing multiple clients and conversations at the same time * Keeping communication clear, professional, and consistent * Using AI tools to improve speed and quality of research, writing, and organization What We’re Looking For * Experience as a software developer (mid or senior level preferred) * Strong understanding of modern web development, such as: * Full-stack development * React / Node.js * CMS platforms * E-commerce systems * Mobile apps (bonus) * Experience in client communication, discovery calls, or requirements gathering * Ability to translate conversations into structured technical plans * Strong judgment around scope, risks, and feasibility * Fluent English (C1/C2 level) * Availability during Eastern Time business hours * Strong organization and multitasking ability * Proactive, responsible, and detail-oriented mindset * Comfortable using AI tools in daily workflows The Kind of Person We Want You’ll do well here if you: * Take ownership without needing constant direction * Enjoy talking to clients and understanding their problems * Can manage multiple projects without losing track of details * Notice missing information before it becomes a problem * Communicate clearly with both technical and non-technical people * Prefer long-term relationships over short freelance tasks * Want to grow into a role involving technical leadership and consulting This is a long-term position, not a short project.
