Technical Product Manual Formatting & Design Specialist Needed

We’re looking for an experienced technical document / product manual designer to help us finalize an almost-completed product manual. The manual is already designed and the majority of the work is complete. However, there are some formatting, layout, alignment, spacing, and consistency updates that need to be made before the final version is ready for production. Unfortunately, the designer who originally created the manual is no longer available, so we’re looking for someone who can quickly understand the existing design and make the required updates without redesigning the document from scratch. What You’ll Be Working On *Review the existing product manual and its current layout *Make required formatting and layout corrections *Maintain the existing design style and visual consistency *Adjust typography, spacing, alignment, tables, headings, and page layouts where needed *Ensure diagrams, figures, labels, and supporting elements are properly positioned *Maintain consistency across all pages *Make sure the Table of Contents and page structure remain accurate *Prepare a clean, professional, print-ready final PDF *Make additional minor formatting adjustments based on feedback The manual is a technical operation and maintenance document, so experience with technical documentation, product manuals, equipment manuals, or similar publications is highly preferred. Ideal Candidate You should have: *Proven experience designing or formatting technical/product manuals *Strong experience with professional document layout *Excellent attention to detail *Experience working with existing InDesign, Illustrator, or similar source files *Ability to preserve an existing design while making precise corrections *Understanding of technical documentation and professional publishing standards *Ability to work quickly and meet a tight deadline Important This is not a complete manual design project. The manual is already close to completion. We primarily need someone who can step into an existing design, understand what has been done, and complete the remaining formatting work professionally. Please include 2–3 examples of product manuals, technical manuals, equipment manuals, or similar documents you have previously designed or formatted.
