Summary

We're a US cabinet-door manufacturer with a real e-commerce business and two in-flight software projects that need an owner. We have working prototypes, clear requirements, and budget for subcontractors — what we don't have is someone whose job is to drive these to done. That's you. You'll manage scope, hire and direct specialist freelancers as needed, keep us informed without being asked, and be accountable for shipping. You'll be working directly with the company owner that can make fast decisions. About us We manufacture custom cabinet doors and components in Omaha, NE and sell direct nationwide through our WooCommerce storefront. Customers — DIY homeowners and trade professionals — configure made-to-order products (dimensions, wood species, profiles, finishes, machining) and pay upfront. Our products are manufactured to spec, so the software that captures a configuration correctly and moves it through the plant is the business. The two projects you'll own 1. WooCommerce Product Configurator. We're migrating our product configurators to a custom plugin. A working pilot already exists on our staging site: dynamic pricing driven by area-based calculations, conditional logic, per-product page behavior. Remaining scope includes live product-image previews, URL-prefill for marketing links, performance validation on mobile, and rollout across the catalog. You'll coordinate the finish work, testing, and launch. 2. Order-Tracking App for the plant. Orders need to be pulled from Woocommerce so orders can be scheduled and tracked from raw material to shipping. Scope and platform are partly open; you'll help us pin down requirements, evaluate options, and then deliver it. Not a typical ERP or MES but some of the same concepts. What you'll do -Own both projects end-to-end: scope, timeline, budget, delivery -Hire, brief, and manage the right freelance specialists (WordPress/WooCommerce devs, designers, integrators) — and replace them quickly when they're not working out -Communicate proactively: a short written status update on a regular cadence, fast responses when we ping you, and early warnings when something threatens the timeline -Make sensible technical calls (or frame them crisply for us to decide) on plugin-vs-custom tradeoffs, APIs, and integrations -Test what gets delivered against real product/pricing scenarios before calling it done Required: -Track record of shipping web/software projects as a hands-on PM — portfolio or case studies where you were the reason it got finished -Deep working knowledge of WordPress (including FSE/block themes) and WooCommerce — you can read a plugin's docs, understand what a developer built, and call out problems -Experience hiring and managing freelance developers -Excellent, fast, written communication -A genuine eye for quality: you can tell well-built from barely-working — clean code, thoughtful UI, and good UX — and you hold that bar for customer-facing and internal tools alike Preferred: -Experience with product configurators, custom/made-to-order e-commerce, or dynamic pricing -Exposure to manufacturing operations software (order tracking, shop-floor systems, ERP/MES-lite) -API and integrations experience (REST, webhooks, connecting SaaS tools) So we can see how you communicate, please answer the screening questions in your proposal (skip the boilerplate cover letter): Proposals that answer all four thoughtfully go to the top of the pile.
