Position Description – QA Engineer Full Time 40hr P/Week The Quality Assurance Engineer will execute manual exploratory and automation tests to ensure product quality. QA Engineer will also focus time on planning and coordination of testing activities, and resolution of technical issues across a wide variety of internal and external stakeholders. Duties and Responsibilities Reporting to the Team Leader Software Development, the duties and responsibilities of the Software Developer include: • Review requirements specification and technical documents • Work closely with Product, UX, and the development team to make high impact contributions and help define QA standards testing strategies • Work with the development and product teams to understand the current approach to testing, and then build out best-practice approaches ongoing • Identify, record, document and track bugs Desired Skills & Experience Minimum Requirements • 4+ years’ experience as a QA Engineer • BS/MS degree in Computer Science, Engineering or a related subject Core Competency Requirements • Working experience in software development • Strong knowledge of software QA methodologies, tools, and processes • Experience in writing test plans and test cases • Hands-on experience with automated testing tools • Knowledge of SQL and scripting, utilizing SQL to run queries and profiles as needed for testing. • Experience working in an Agile/Scrum development • Execute functional and regression test cases • Conduct manual and/or automated tests on major and minor version releases, service packs and patches • Identify and log defects and relates to test cases using JIRA • Coordinate multi-user testing scenarios and ad-hoc software testing to elicit defects • Design, setup, configure, and maintain test lab systems and environments, including software product install, computer hardware, network configuration, virtual machines and other lab equipment, software, and infrastructure as needed • Design, implement, execute, and maintain automated tests, automated test frameworks and/or infrastructure to execute automated tests • Deliver high quality and reliable software that meets customer experience while achieving compliance to business and technical requirements and standards • Research the validity and/or cause of customer issues • Advises Technical Support on resolution or escalates to software engineering group • Participate in Lean-Agile activities including back-log and sprint planning, stakeholder reviews, daily stand-ups, and retrospectives
