Traditional Photo Restoration & Enlargement — NO AI / Generative Reconstruction

I have a low-resolution black-and-white photograph that I would like professionally restored and prepared for printing at a larger size. The attached low-resolution image is the only version I have. I do not have the original photograph, negative, or a higher-resolution scan. IMPORTANT: I am NOT looking for AI reconstruction I have already received examples where people have used generative AI to recreate/upscale the photograph. This is specifically NOT what I want. Please do NOT: * Use generative AI to recreate the photograph * Generate or replace faces * Invent facial details that aren’t present in the source * Recreate or reinterpret text, logos, clothing, hands, or other objects * Colorize the photograph * Change people’s appearance * Add details that don’t actually exist in the source I understand that the original is low resolution and that there is a limit to how much genuine detail can be recovered. I would rather have a somewhat softer but authentic enlargement than a sharper image containing invented details. What I want I am looking for someone experienced in traditional photographic restoration and professional print preparation. The objective is to preserve the original photograph as faithfully as possible while producing the best larger-print version that can reasonably be made from it. Work may include traditional techniques such as: * High-quality non-generative resampling/interpolation * Careful sharpening * Noise and compression-artifact reduction * Contrast and tonal adjustments * Black-and-white level correction * Selective manual retouching where appropriate * Professional print preparation Every person, face, piece of clothing, logo, word, object, and background element should remain faithful to the source photograph. This should still look like the same original photograph, just restored, cleaned up, enlarged, and optimized for printing. Deliverables Please provide: 1. A high-quality JPEG The final image must remain black and white. Please do not send AI-generated before/after examples. If your normal workflow involves generative AI that reconstructs faces or other image details, this project is probably not a good fit. The priority for this project is authenticity to the original photograph, not creating artificial sharpness or detail.
