Transcriber and Subtitler for True Crime Content

We’re looking for a reliable transcriber and subtitler to work on long-form true crime YouTube videos. This is a post-editing role. You’ll receive completed video edits and be responsible for accurately transcribing dialogue and creating polished, correctly timed subtitles for the final video. What you’ll be doing - • Transcribing dialogue from completed true-crime video edits. • Creating accurate, well-timed subtitles that match the dialogue on screen. • Correctly handling multiple speakers, overlapping dialogue, police radio traffic, slang, and difficult audio. • Ensuring names, locations, police terminology, and case-specific details are spelled correctly. • Manually reviewing and correcting any AI-generated transcription. • Following established subtitle formatting and style guidelines consistently. • Performing a final accuracy check before delivery. The videos primarily feature police bodycam footage, interrogations, interviews, 911 calls, surveillance footage, and other law-enforcement material, so experience working with challenging or imperfect audio is highly valuable. What we’re looking for - You should have excellent written English, alongside perfect comprehension. Some of these clips are very hard to understand, so we need a native to get all the details right. Previous experience in transcription, subtitling, YouTube production, documentaries, or true crime is strongly preferred. Experience with tools such as Whisper, Premiere Pro, DaVinci Resolve, or Subtitle Edit is also strongly preferred – you will be adding subtitles directly to the footage.
