Summary

Content Quality Assurance Reviewer – True Crime Streaming App Hello hello! We’re a fast-growing true crime streaming platform with 1000+ cases in catalog across audiobooks, docuseries, and podcast episodes. The app is TrueShort in the Apple AppStore. Please have a look to familiarize yourself with our app and content styles and look/feel. We need a meticulous English-native content reviewer to be our quality gate before content goes live, published in our app. —— You will review each piece for: —— • Subtitle accuracy and sync -- incl. any misspellings, incorrect grammar or punctuation, etc. • Black frames, visual glitches, AI video artifacts (text hallucinations, uncanny valley issues), editorial problems with the storytelling, poor-quality AI clips...anything about the episodes that don't meet our brand level of quality. • Backend CMS platform data entry accuracy (titles, descriptions, series/case details, metadata). You will doublecheck everything, ensure it looks good, then publish the series yourself in our app, then update the series tracker spreadsheet so we can see everything that's been published. • Thumbnail/poster quality and appropriateness. Understanding how we make our posters with ChatGPT and how to fix them to be ready for publishing is a big part of this. • Script/narration errors, factual inconsistencies (you don't need to fact check everything), tone issues • Audio quality and pacing problems —— You’re a fit if: —— • Native English speaker • You’ve done content review, editorial QA, or production coordination professionally • True crime familiarity is a plus • You’re fast, consistent, and genuinely bothered by small mistakes and have the attention to detail to find and fix all the little issues • Available for ongoing weekly work as catalog continues to grow —— Details: —— • Remote, flexible hours • The role usually requires at least 15-20 hours per week to handle the production output • Hourly rate to start until we find our rhythm and content output standards —— How to Apply —— This role gets a lot of applicants. We read every application but only move forward with people who follow these instructions exactly. In your application, include all of the following: 1. Confirm you're a native English speaker and where you're based 2. Describe one specific content mistake you caught that others missed — what it was, what format (video/audio/written), and how you found it 3. Describe your QC or review process — how do you approach watching or listening to a piece of content when your job is to find what's wrong with it? 4. Name two true crime shows, podcasts, or audiobooks you've consumed recently and what you thought of the production quality 5. Write the word MERCURY at the top of your application — if it's not there, we won't read it Applications that are generic, vague, clearly AI-written (!!!) or missing any of the above will be declined immediately. —— Paid Test —— Shortlisted candidates will be given a paid test ($25-30): you'll receive one episode of a recent docuseries plus a set of series details as they appear in our CMS that you’ll check for errors. Your job is to watch the series episodes and give detailed feedback with specific timecodes on the video and audit the CMS data entry content for errors. You’ll then submit a structured QC report flagging every issue you find, technical and editorial. We'll compare your notes against ours. . Looking forward to hearing from you! Thanks!
