I run a documentary-style YouTube channel covering unsolved cases and internet mysteries. Narration-driven, no on-camera host, 20–25 minutes per video. Looking for an editor to take over ongoing production — roughly one video every two weeks to start, potentially weekly. What you'd be working with I provide the finished script, the recorded narration, and a research packet with named artifacts for each section. You source footage, cut to the narration, and build the visual layer. What the job actually is Sourcing and cutting archival stills, photographs, documents, and stock B-roll to a fixed narration track Slow, deliberate pacing — holding shots, subtle movement on stills, letting a beat breathe On-screen text: dates, names, quotes, document callouts A recurring on-screen status label that updates as the narration moves between verified and unverified claims (reusable template, built once) Basic sound design and music bed Colour and grade consistency across the video What I'm looking for A reel or portfolio with at least one long-form narration-driven piece you cut. Short-form and reels work won't tell me what I need to know. Comfort with archival material — you'll be working with old photographs and documents more than modern footage Restraint. This channel doesn't use whooshes, zoom punches, or trend captions. If your reel is heavy on transitions, we're not a fit. Reliable communication and honesty about your timeline. I'd rather hear "this will take ten days" than miss a date.
