Unity 3D Developer / Technical Artist — Interactive Ski & Snowboard Technique App Project Overview I am looking for an experienced Unity 3D Developer / Technical Artist to develop a high-quality interactive application for ski and snowboard technique analysis. The app will transform existing Blender 3D models and technical animations into an interactive educational tool where users can explore skiing and snowboarding movements from different perspectives, control animations, activate/deactivate layers and elements, and access detailed information about biomechanics, physics, equipment and technique. This is not a video game. It is an educational and technical 3D visualization product with commercial potential and ongoing content development. What is already available A substantial part of the project is already prepared: * Detailed 3D models created in Blender. * Technical animations already created in Blender. * Models organized into layers and individual elements. * Explanatory content already written. * A detailed PowerPoint UI/UX guide showing the intended screens, navigation and interface. * Existing 3D animation examples demonstrating the concept and visual potential. The main task is therefore to build the Unity application, interaction systems, architecture and user experience around this existing content. Core Features 1. 3D Animation Library Users will be able to browse and select different ski and snowboard techniques from an animation/content library. The player should support: * Play * Pause * Restart * Slow motion * Frame-by-frame navigation The architecture should allow additional techniques and animations to be added efficiently in the future. Simultaneous playback of two animations is not required for the first version, but the architecture should not prevent this feature from being added later. 2. Four Camera / Analysis Modes The application will include four specific viewing modes: Free / Orbit 360° camera movement around the model. Front Fixed frontal perspective for alignment analysis. Sagittal Side view for analysing flexion/extension, centre of mass and movement patterns. Transverse Top/bottom view for analysing rotation and movement trajectories. All modes should provide smooth and precise zoom. 3. Interactive 3D Model Users should be able to click/tap on specific parts of the animated model. When an object is selected: * The animation pauses. * The selected object is identified. * The relevant information is displayed. Information will be organized into four categories: Biomechanics * Body position * Joints * Angles * Musculature * Movement Physics * Forces * Gravity * Inertia * Vectors * Centre of mass Equipment * Skis * Snowboard * Boots * Bindings * Equipment behaviour Technique * Technical explanation * Movement execution * Objectives * Common errors 4. Layer & Element Visibility The user must be able to independently show/hide different model layers and relevant individual elements. The architecture should make it possible to add or modify layers without extensive programming changes. 5. Modular Content Architecture This is one of the most important requirements. The application must be designed as a scalable content platform, not as a single hard-coded scene. For example: SKI → Fundamentals → Carving → Short Turns → Advanced SNOWBOARD → Fundamentals → Carving → Freestyle → Advanced Each technique may contain: * 3D model * Animation * Layers * Selectable objects * Biomechanics information * Physics information * Equipment information * Technique information Adding new techniques should require minimal code changes. 6. Multilingual Support The initial application will support: * English * Spanish The architecture must allow additional languages to be added later. Content and UI text should therefore be separated from the core code and handled through a proper localization/data system. 7. Modular Monetization The commercial model will eventually allow different content packages and levels of access. For example: * Free content * Individual modules * Ski packages * Snowboard packages * Complete Ski + Snowboard package * Future professional/instructor features The first version does not necessarily need to implement the complete monetization system, but the architecture must be designed with this future modular structure in mind. Target Platforms The initial target platforms are: * iOS * Android * Windows * macOS Particular attention must be paid to **performance and optimization on mobile devices**, as the 3D models may be relatively detailed. Developer Profile I am looking for an experienced: Unity 3D Developer / Technical Artist with proven experience in: * Unity 3D * C# * Blender → Unity workflows * 3D animation * Interactive 3D applications * Camera systems * UI implementation * Raycasting / object selection * Layer and object management * Mobile optimization * Localization * Modular data/content architecture Experience in any of the following would be a strong advantage: * Sports applications * Biomechanics * Education * Simulation * Scientific visualization * Technical training * 3D configurators A strong portfolio is more important than simply having many years of experience. Project Approach I am looking for someone interested in building a long-term product, not simply delivering a prototype and moving on. The application will progressively receive new techniques, animations, languages and potentially professional features. The initial development should therefore establish a clean and maintainable foundation. What I Would Like From You Please include the following in your proposal: 1. Portfolio Show me your best examples of: * Unity 3D applications * Interactive 3D projects * Animation systems * Technical visualization * Mobile applications Please provide links whenever possible. 2. Relevant experience Briefly explain your experience with: * Blender → Unity * Complex 3D hierarchies * Interactive animated models * Object selection/raycasting * Camera systems * Mobile optimization * Modular content systems 3. Technical approach Please explain briefly how you would approach: * The content architecture. * Layer visibility. * Object selection during animation. * The four camera modes. * Multilingual content. * Future modular/premium content. 4. Estimate Please provide: * Estimated development time. * Estimated total budget. * Suggested milestones/phases. * What is included. * What is not included. I am particularly interested in a milestone-based fixed-price proposal rather than an open-ended hourly project. 5. Technical risks Please identify what you consider to be the **three biggest technical challenges or risks** in this project and how you would address them. Important Please do not simply provide a generic Unity proposal. I would like to see that you have understood the specific requirements of an interactive 3D technical analysis application. I am looking for someone who can contribute technically and help make good architectural decisions, not just implement predefined tasks. Budget Please provide an estimated budget by development phase and total project budget, specifying what is included. I am open to discussing the scope and dividing the project into clearly defined milestones. Potential for ongoing work If the initial version is successful, there will be opportunities for continued development involving: * Additional techniques * New animations * New languages * Additional modules * Professional/instructor features * Advanced comparison and analysis tools This could therefore become a long-term collaboration. --- Please start your proposal by answering this question: How would you structure the Unity project so that I can add a new technique, animation, set of layers and associated information later without having to modify the core programming?
