Unity Developer for 3D Driving Game

Summary

I am looking for a Unity developer to build a low-cost, unpolished 3D MVP for an educational driving game. The purpose of the prototype is to demonstrate the concept to investors and test it with a small group of students. This is not a finished commercial game. High-end graphics, custom 3D modelling, multiplayer, advanced traffic AI, realistic damage, or a large open world are not required. Existing licensed Unity assets and templates are encouraged to reduce cost and development time. The first milestone will focus on a small playable movement proof. The second milestone will be one complete four-way-stop vertical slice. Additional scenarios may be added only after the first two milestones are tested and approved. The MVP should include: A small 3D neighbourhood road environment Stable vehicle controls for accelerating, maintaining an approximately consistent chosen speed, slowing gradually, braking, steering, and coming to a complete stop A visible digital speedometer displaying kilometres per hour An in-car, dashboard, or close driver-view camera One functional four-way-stop intersection Stop signs, road markings, sidewalks, curbs, and simple surrounding buildings At least one scripted NPC vehicle Detection of whether the player stopped, waited, proceeded appropriately, collided, or left the intended road area Simple on-screen instructional feedback Basic scoring and pass/retry results Reliable restart and replay behaviour A short multiple-choice knowledge check after the driving scenario The vehicle controls do not need realistic simulation physics, but they must feel stable, predictable, and appropriate for practising speed control rather than racing. Releasing the accelerator should not cause the vehicle to stop immediately, and the learner must be able to maintain a reasonably consistent speed. The scripted NPC vehicle does not require advanced traffic AI. A simple, reliable sequence is acceptable as long as it behaves consistently each time the scenario is replayed. The project should be built in Unity. A WebGL browser build is preferred, with a downloadable desktop build as a backup if necessary. Existing Unity Asset Store or marketplace assets may be used, but all assets must be legally licensed for commercial use. No paid asset may be purchased without my written approval. The final handover must include: Complete editable Unity project All scripts and source files Scenes and prefabs UI files Project settings Build instructions Playable build List of all third-party assets Links and licence information for those assets Brief handover walkthrough The project must not depend on the developer’s private account after delivery. This will be a fixed-price milestone project. Milestone 1: Vehicle movement proof Basic Unity project setup Temporary road environment Vehicle acceleration Speed maintenance Gradual slowing and braking Steering Driver-view camera Digital km/h speedometer Playable build Milestone 2: Four-way-stop vertical slice Four-way-stop intersection Stop signs and road markings Scripted NPC vehicle Stop detection Basic driving evaluation Instructional feedback Scoring and results Restart and replay Short knowledge check Playable build A milestone will not be considered complete simply because files have been submitted. I must be able to test the playable build and confirm that the agreed features work reliably before approval. Please include in your proposal: A link to at least one Unity 3D project you personally worked on A clear explanation of which parts you created Examples involving vehicles, scripted gameplay, NPCs, simulations, or WebGL Your proposed technical approach Your fixed-price estimate and timeline for Milestone 1 Your fixed-price estimate and timeline for Milestone 2 Any Unity assets or templates you recommend Estimated asset costs Confirmation that you can deliver the complete editable Unity project Confirmation that you will use only legally licensed assets Confirmation that you are comfortable working through small fixed-price milestones Please do not quote for a polished full commercial game. I am looking for an affordable, functional proof of concept. Confidentiality note: This posting contains only the technical information required to assess the project. Detailed curriculum, branding, scenario content, research, and business information will be shared only with the selected developer.
