Unreal Engine UE5 Prop Modeling & Texturing Artist for Armor, Props etc

We are looking for a skilled Unreal Engine 5 Prop Modeling & Texturing Artist to help create and prepare high-quality character accessories for a cinematic project. The work mainly involves armor, crowns, jewelry, belts, footwear, weapons, ornaments, and other character-worn props. Some base meshes may come from AI-generated models, so the artist should be comfortable cleaning and improving existing meshes, not only creating models from scratch. The final assets must be clean, optimized, properly textured, and ready to use inside Unreal Engine 5. Responsibilities Model and refine armor, crowns, jewelry, footwear, weapons, and accessories Clean up AI-generated meshes where needed Fix bad geometry, normals, holes, shading issues, and topology problems Retopologize assets when required Create clean UVs with good texel density Create PBR textures using Substance Painter or similar tools Prepare Base Color, Normal, Roughness, Metallic, AO / ORM maps as needed Set up materials and material instances in Unreal Engine 5 Ensure assets look correct under Unreal lighting, not only in Blender/Substance renders Maintain proper scale, pivot, naming, and folder structure Optimize assets using Nanite or LODs where appropriate Required Skills Strong prop modeling experience Hard-surface modeling Armor / jewelry / accessory modeling experience Blender, Maya, or 3ds Max Substance Painter or equivalent PBR texturing workflow Retopology and UV unwrapping Texture baking: Normal, AO, Curvature, etc. Unreal Engine 5 asset import and material setup Understanding of cinematic/game-ready asset optimization Nice to Have Experience with mythological, ancient, fantasy, or historical designs Experience with character-worn assets Experience preparing assets for MetaHuman or Unreal characters Ability to preserve the original design while simplifying messy AI mesh output Knowledge of Nanite, LODs, and Unreal material instances Deliverables For each asset, we expect: Cleaned / optimized mesh UV layout PBR texture maps Unreal-ready FBX or source file Unreal material setup Screenshots from Unreal Engine 5 showing the final asset Source files where applicable Test Task We will begin with one paid test asset. The test will involve taking one armor/crown/jewelry asset, cleaning the mesh, improving topology, UV unwrapping, texturing it, and setting it up properly inside Unreal Engine 5.
