Video Editor / Motion Designer —YouTube Explainer Video editor for Finance niche

Summary

I'm launching a finance explainer channel in the documentary-explainer style — think "how money actually works," told like a heist story. Deadpan narrator, fast cuts, motion-graphics-driven teaching moments, and a simple 2D mascot that pops in every ~45–60 seconds to anchor the video. The style you'll be replicating (study this first): Channel: how really? (@howreallyvideos) -https://www.youtube.com/@howreallyvideos Reference video: Why $2 Trillion Vanishes Every Year -https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6M_RPR7gHuA Watch it on mute if you have to — I care about the visual rhythm, not the audio. Notice: a visual change every ~2–4 seconds, layered footage, punchy text cards, and clean motion graphics that carry the explanation. The "5-layer stack" you'll build every video with: 1.Stock footage (Pexels / Pixabay / Mixkit) for narrative gaps 2.Motion graphics (money counters, flow diagrams, red-number stacks) for the "teaching" moments 3.A simple 2D mascot character for the anchor beats (I provide the assets — you animate/slot them in) 4.Text cards for emphasis and punchlines 5.Public-domain government footage (FBI, DOJ, C-SPAN hearings) for "real faces, real tension" moments —you need to find relative clips I'll send you a ~45-second script segment. Produce it exactly in the reference style: Cut to the same rhythm (a visual change every 2–4 seconds) Include at least 2 motion-graphic moments and 2 text cards Slot in the mascot at least once Use ONLY free stock + your own graphics (no copyrighted clips) Deliver: final 1080p MP4 + the project file This is a paid test — submit your rate with your application. Strong tests lead to an ongoing retainer (1–2 videos/month to start, scaling up). Requirements: Strong After Effects (or similar) + Premiere/Final Cut/Resolve skills You can match a reference video's pacing and energy without copying its exact shots Clean motion-graphics craft (typography, easing, spacing) You reply with a turnaround time and stick to it Bonus: experience with faceless / documentary-explainer channels How to apply: 1.Send 2–3 portfolio pieces closest to this style (faceless explainers preferred) 2.One line on what you noticed about the reference video's pacing 3. Your rate + turnaround for a 5–6 min video
