Video Editor + Motion Graphics Creator — American Football Educational Course (30 Videos)
Worldwide
⚠️ READ THIS ENTIRE POST BEFORE APPLYING. THERE IS A REQUIRED WORD IN YOUR APPLICATION (see below). ABOUT THE PROJECT I’m the creator of an online course that teaches people how to understand, watch, and love American football. The course covers everything from basic rules to offensive and defensive formations, play types, player positions, game strategy, and more. The course has approximately 30 video lessons. Each lesson features me on camera, presenting the material directly to students. My job is done — the on-camera footage is recorded and the script is delivered. Your job is to transform that raw footage into a polished, engaging lesson video. WHAT YOU’LL DO Each video will require one or both of the following: 1. Slide Integration — I will provide pre-made slides. You will cut to the slide at the right moment in my script, hold it on screen as I explain the concept, and then cut back to me on camera. Clean, professional timing. 2. Motion Graphics / Animation / Explainer Overlay — Some concepts require motion to understand. For example: a receiver running a route, a defensive line shifting, a play developing in real time. You will create motion graphics, animated diagrams, or short explainer animations that visually demonstrate the concept while my voice plays over it. NON-NEGOTIABLE: YOU MUST UNDERSTAND AMERICAN FOOTBALL This is a hard requirement, not a preference. You cannot create accurate motion graphics for a play-action pass, a cover-2 defense, or a pick route if you don’t know what those things are. We are not in a position to teach you the game while you’re building the videos. You must be able to: • Name and explain basic offensive formations (e.g., I-formation, shotgun, spread) • Understand what “down and distance” means and how game flow works • Animate a receiver route accurately (go route, slant, out, curl, etc.) • Identify player positions on both sides of the ball • Recognize the difference between offensive and defensive schemes at a conceptual level If you’re not sure whether you qualify — you probably don’t. Please do not apply. WHAT I PROVIDE • My on-camera lesson video (cleaned, trimmed, and properly lit) • Full written script with timestamps for where slides and graphics appear • Pre-designed slide assets (PowerPoint or similar) • Brand colors, fonts, and style guide (after test phase) • Clear notes on what each graphic needs to show SKILLS REQUIRED • Video editing (Premiere Pro, Final Cut, or DaVinci Resolve) • Motion graphics and animation (After Effects strongly preferred) • Sports animation experience (any sport is a plus; American football is ideal) • Experience with educational or explainer video format • Strong communication and ability to meet deadlines consistently PROJECT SCOPE This project will begin with a paid test phase of 2 videos. If the quality, communication, and workflow are excellent, this becomes a 30-video ongoing project. • Total project: approximately 30 videos • Turnaround expectation: 1-2 business days per video once assets are delivered for the initial test phase. Total project will need to be completed in 2 - 4 weeks. • Revisions: 2 rounds included per video HOW TO APPLY To be considered, your application must include ALL of the following: 1. The word “Touchdown” at the very start of your cover letter. Applications without this word will not be read. 2. 2–3 portfolio links that are relevant — motion graphics, sports animation, or educational video examples. 3. Answer to this question: Name 3 offensive formations used in American football and briefly explain when a team would use each one. 4. Your software stack (editing + motion graphics). Creating AI videos that look realistic are fantastic, as long as they are accurate. Some concepts may work for realistic AI and some may need to be animation. 5. Your realistic turnaround time per video. IDEAL CANDIDATE You’re the right person for this project if you: • Actually watch football and get excited by the idea of making it visual and accessible • Have created sports-related or educational motion graphics before • Are detail-oriented and take pride in clean, polished final products • Communicate proactively and meet deadlines without being chased • Are looking for an ongoing project — not just a one-off gig This is a meaningful project. Students across the country use this course to finally understand a game that connects them to their families, friends, and communities. The videos need to be excellent. If that excites you, I’d love to hear from you.
