Video Editor Needed — Police Bodycam Footage → YouTube Content (English-Fluent)

We run a YouTube channel that turns real police body camera footage into engaging, digestible content for a western, English-speaking, middle-aged audience. We're looking for a skilled video editor to join our team on a recurring basis. Responsibilities Review and edit raw police bodycam footage into polished, watchable YouTube videos Trim, pace, and structure footage for maximum viewer retention Add captions/subtitles, sound design, and light graphics as needed Censor/bleep out curse words and profanity to keep content advertiser-friendly Handle sensitive and sometimes graphic content professionally and tastefully Capture and select compelling screenshots/frames from footage for use in video thumbnails Collaborate with our team on thumbnail concepts aimed at maximizing click-through rate and virality Deliver videos on a consistent schedule Requirements Fluent/native-level English — you must be able to understand spoken dialogue, radio chatter, and context in the footage (including catching profanity for censoring), and communicate clearly with our team Proven experience editing YouTube content (please share a portfolio or channel links) Strong sense of pacing, storytelling, and retention-focused editing Comfortable working with sensitive, real-world footage (arrests, altercations, etc.) in a professional, non-sensationalized manner Familiarity with YouTube thumbnail/CTR best practices and advertiser-friendly content guidelines Reliable internet connection and own editing software (Premiere Pro, DaVinci Resolve, or similar) Ability to meet deadlines consistently Nice to Have Experience specifically editing true crime, law enforcement, or documentary-style content Basic understanding of YouTube algorithm/audience retention metrics Experience designing or contributing to high-CTR thumbnails
