Video Editor Needed — 90-Second Documentary-Style Recovery Fundraising Video
Worldwide
I’m looking for an experienced video editor to create an approximately 90-second fundraising video for a rehabilitation farm in Belize. All original footage has already been captured, and the story/creative direction is substantially developed. This is primarily an editing and storytelling assignment — not a filming or scriptwriting assignment. Source material includes: Two interviews with a resident currently at the rehabilitation center Footage of the 60-acre farm and grounds Solar equipment Fish ponds and agricultural operations Animals and daily life at the farm Footage of people involved with the center My own voiceover, which will be provided separately I will provide the original video files, interview transcripts, voiceover, fundraiser information, and a detailed creative brief/story arc. Creative direction The film should feel documentary-style, intimate, human, hopeful and authentic. I do NOT want a generic nonprofit promotional video. Please avoid: Stock footage AI-generated imagery Corporate-style transitions Excessive motion graphics Overly dramatic editing Manipulative “charity” treatment Generic inspirational-video aesthetics The real people, their voices and the environment should carry the emotion. Natural sound from the farm should remain where it adds authenticity. Music can be used, but it should be restrained and support the story rather than manufacture emotion. Deliverables Approximately 90-second finished video Vertical 9:16 version optimized for Facebook/Reels Landscape 16:9 version Burned-in captions/subtitles Clean version without captions Final end card with fundraiser URL and QR code Two reasonable revision rounds Editable project/source file Final high-resolution files suitable for social media and web use Budget: $100 fixed price I’m looking for someone who can execute at a genuinely high level within that scope. If the final work materially exceeds expectations in storytelling, polish, and emotional impact, I’m open to adding a performance bonus. Please include 2–3 examples of relevant work. I’m much more interested in emotionally grounded storytelling than flashy editing or motion graphics. In your proposal, please answer one question: How would you make a 90-second story emotionally powerful without making it feel melodramatic or like a traditional charity commercial?
