Video Editor for Premium Documentary-Style Bible Teaching Channel (Long-Term, Ongoing)
Worldwide
About the project. The Unshaken Kingdom is a YouTube channel producing verse-by-verse Bible teachings with a singular visual identity: dignified, scholarly, and cinematic — think museum documentary about an ancient manuscript, not typical YouTube content. Deep navy and gold, parchment textures, serif typography, unhurried pacing. We are deliberately swimming against YouTube trend culture: no meme cuts, no zoom-punch energy, no sound-effect clutter. If your instinct is to make edits invisible rather than impressive, you're who we're looking for. We publish weekly, five-to-six-minute teachings, and we're hiring one editor for an ongoing relationship — one video per week to start, with full onboarding documentation (a complete style guide, a vision brief, and finished reference masters that define the standard). What you'll be doing: Assembling weekly videos from supplied components: presenter footage, a cinematic intro/outro pair, pre-designed Scripture card graphics (2880x1620 PNGs), and a music bed — into our locked structure (crossfade joins, specific fade timings, music at −22 dB under the voice) Timing full-screen Scripture cards to land at the exact moment each verse is spoken, with slow, smooth push-in motion — this is the channel's signature element and the majority of the finesse work Maintaining a calm visual rhythm: a visual change every 5–10 seconds using cards and subtle B-roll stills — never through cuts or movement on the presenter Working with AI avatar footage: our presenter is a disclosed digital avatar of the channel's founder. You'll run a dedicated QC pass for occasional AI rendering artifacts (hand glitches, phantom jewelry, finger anomalies during gestures) and mitigate them using our documented hierarchy — covering with a Scripture card, a B-roll still, or a caption strap, or flagging for re-render. Never by cropping or zooming. Preparing marked segments cleanly for vertical Shorts cutdowns Hard technical constraints (non-negotiable, all documented): No zooms, punch-ins, or repositioning of the presenter — ever. The frame holds steady; the layers around it do the work. Brand profile supplied: navy #0E1B2C / gold #D4A94B / parchment cream #F2E7CF; Cinzel and EB Garamond typography; KJV Scripture only, always verbatim Source footage arrives at 2K/120fps; you edit on a 2560x1440 @ 60fps timeline and deliver 2K60, H.264 High, yuv420p, faststart, single continuous encode No SFX, risers, or whooshes; no letterboxing; no watermarks The one requirement that matters most: this channel's editing philosophy is a single sentence — the Bible stays the authority. Every edit decision passes one test: does it make the Scripture more prominent, or the editing more prominent? We need an editor who genuinely respects that the content leads and the craft serves. You don't need to share our faith to do this job well, but you do need to honor the reverence of the material. A strong fit looks like: documentary, corporate-premium, or editorial editing background; obsessive about typography and timing; comfortable with a defined system rather than creative free-rein; responsive and consistent week over week. Experience with AI-generated footage is a plus but not required — the mitigation playbook is documented. To apply: begin your proposal with the word UNSHAKEN so we know you've read this posting. Include (1) one link to work you've done that feels calm and premium — not your flashiest piece, your most restrained one — and (2) two sentences on how you'd handle discovering a two-second hand glitch in otherwise perfect presenter footage. We'll shortlist quickly and start with one paid trial video edited against our reference master. Budget: per-video flat rate, ongoing weekly. State your per-video rate for a ~6-minute video at this spec in your proposal.
