Video Editor for a 15-Second Mobile Game Trailer & Store Preview
Worldwide
I’m looking for a video editor with experience in mobile game trailers and short-form ads to create a polished vertical trailer for Necro Market, a dark-fantasy shop management game with a dry, humorous tone. The trailer should be approximately 15–16 seconds long. I will provide all the footage, so no gameplay recording is required. Opening clip and concept The video attached to this job post is the actual opening clip that I want to use in the trailer before the gameplay montage. It is not a reference edit. The clip is approximately six seconds long and shows a dead hero and a sword that starts moving on its own. The underlying joke is that the death of an adventurer creates an opportunity to obtain and reuse the equipment they leave behind. I would like this idea to be communicated through one or two short full-screen text cards that briefly interrupt the clip, rather than appearing as text over the footage. The exact English copy has not been decided. I would like the editor to help refine the wording and suggest something concise, natural and effective. After the opening sequence and the punchline, the trailer should transition into a fast montage showing the core gameplay. The editor has creative freedom to: - Trim or speed up the attached opening clip - Decide exactly where to place the text cards - Suggest the final English wording - Adjust the pacing and transitions - Select the strongest gameplay moments from the footage provided - Improve the overall structure if necessary The opening clip must appear before the gameplay, but I’m open to creative suggestions about how it should be edited. Style and audio The intended tone is: - Dark fantasy - Mysterious - Slightly humorous - Polished and easy to understand - Focused on the actual game The attached opening clip contains its own audio and sound effects. These should be used or remixed as appropriate. I would like the transition into gameplay to also introduce a change in rhythm, music or energy. Any additional music and sound effects must be licensed for commercial use and free from copyright or Content ID issues. Material provided I will provide: - The attached opening clip with its original audio - Portrait gameplay recordings - The game logo and available graphic assets - Additional information about the game Deliverables I would ideally like one core creative concept with the necessary platform adaptations: - A 9:16 version for TikTok - A Google Play-ready version - An Apple App Store-ready version - Approximately 15–16 seconds - High-quality H.264 exports at 30 fps - Two revision rounds If store requirements require a slightly different or more gameplay-focused edit, please mention this in your proposal. Please also specify whether the editable project file is included. When applying Please include: - Two or three relevant examples of mobile game trailers or gameplay ads - Your proposed creative approach for the attached opening clip - Your price and estimated delivery time - Confirmation that commercially licensed music and sound effects are included - Confirmation that you can prepare exports suitable for TikTok, Google Play and the Apple App Store Please avoid sending only a generic showreel. I would prefer to see examples featuring real gameplay, typography, pacing and sound design.
