Summary

I’m looking for a video editor for an emerging women’s entertainment media brand and its flagship video show. The show is comedy/entertainment-first and performance-driven. I’m looking for clean, polished editing with strong comedic timing and editorial judgment not hyperactive YouTube editing, constant memes, excessive sound effects, or effects simply for the sake of effects. This project currently has two primary episode formats: Premise/Performance Episodes Solo-host comedic episodes requiring clean cuts, strong pacing, intentional punch-ins/reframing, occasional graphics/text where appropriate, and most importantly knowing when to let a joke, reaction, silence, or awkward moment breathe. (QC) A recurring solo game format using physical cards. The host reads scenarios and choices, makes a choice, and riffs/reacts. These episodes require more visual storytelling: readable on-screen scenarios/choices, reactions, transitions, a recurring game identity, and reusable branded elements. I will provide brand assets, references, creative direction, and an editor onboarding brief. I am specifically looking for someone who can think creatively and make editorial decisions independently. I do not want to prescribe every individual cut or troubleshoot routine post-production issues myself. Initial Project: 3 Episodes I am currently hiring for an initial batch of three episodes: * 2 QC game-format episodes * 1 premise/performance comedy episode Additional episodes are planned after this initial batch if the working relationship is a good fit. $75 USD Per Completed Episode — Fixed Rate The rate for this season is $75 USD per completed episode. This rate is fixed and is not open to negotiation after applying or after reviewing the footage. Please apply only if you are comfortable completing the scope below for $75 per episode. If $75 does not work for your experience, workload, or normal rate, I completely understand — please do not apply. The $75 episode package includes: * 1 edited full-length episode * Expected finished episode length: approximately 15–30 minutes * Clean cuts and pacing * Intentional punch-ins/reframing * Basic audio cleanup/correction and troubleshooting * Basic color correction * Appropriate text/graphics and format-specific editing * Reusable branded elements/templates when required for recurring formats * Short cold-open/teaser assembled from strong moments when appropriate * 2 vertical short-form clips selected from strong/shareable moments * Captions on vertical clips * Final exports ready for upload * Up to 2 reasonable revision rounds * Project/source files and reusable UT editing assets/templates available upon request Raw footage will generally be longer than the finished episode. The $75 rate applies to the completed episode package described above, not per finished minute. Important This is an emerging brand preparing for launch, so reliability and turnaround matter. Episodes will ultimately release weekly on Thursdays. I am currently recording/banking episodes so the editor is not expected to work on a last-minute weekly scramble, but I need someone who communicates clearly and can meet agreed deadlines. The first QC episode will also establish reusable visual elements for future QC episodes. Once that system is created, subsequent QC episodes should build from the existing visual language rather than reinventing the format each time. When Applying Please send 1–3 relevant examples of your work. Comedy, entertainment, personality-led video, game/show editing, or strong solo-host work is preferred over a general editing reel. Please briefly answer: 1. How would you approach editing a solo comedy game where the host draws physical cards, reads scenarios/choices, chooses an answer, and riffs/reacts? 2. How do you approach comedic timing when deciding whether to cut, punch in, or hold on a reaction/silence? 3. If otherwise-clean audio was accidentally recorded only to the left channel, how would you correct it? 4. What editing software do you use? 5. What is your typical turnaround time for a 15–30 minute finished episode? 6. Please confirm in your application: “I agree to the fixed $75 USD per completed episode package described in this posting for the current season.” I care more about taste, comedic instinct, problem-solving, reliability, and editorial judgment than flashy effects.
