Video editor for a 50-lesson online course series, calm talking-head style, long-term batches
Worldwide
I'm launching five online courses for parents of babies and toddlers, and I need one editor to cut the whole series. The footage: three studio days in late August. Me speaking to camera from a teleprompter, plain backdrop, two cameras, separate sound kit, no props, no b-roll. Scripts are locked before we shoot. You get the raw files and a shoot log of the preferred takes. What the full series needs (approximate, so please quote per unit as well as in total): - Around 50 course lessons, 16:9, finished 5 to 8 minutes each - Around 15 longer YouTube versions cut from the same footage, 8 to 12 minutes - Around 100 vertical cutdowns, 9:16, 30 to 60 seconds, burnt-in captions - One course trailer, 60 to 90 seconds - Human-corrected SRT captions and a thumbnail frame grab per video You would also build the on-screen system once: an animated logo sting, end card, title card, lower third and text callout templates. Then per lesson, roughly 6 to 10 text callouts and 3 to 5 simple charts or diagrams that you build from markers in my script. I supply the wording, the source numbers, the fonts, the logo and the palette. You make it look professional. The style is calm and unhurried: cream and forest green with a camel accent. This is reassurance for exhausted parents, not fast-cut social. Cut on the second angle rather than jump cuts, no whip pans, no zoom punches, no sound effects. Consistency is the whole job. Lesson 47 has to look and sound identical to lesson 1, shot on a different day. I would rather have plain and identical than beautiful and varied. One hard rule: some lessons carry a fixed safety and disclaimer card. That wording is a compliance requirement. It gets copied and pasted from my file, never retyped, paraphrased or shortened. If it does not fit the design, the design changes, not the words. How this runs: - This contract is phase one: the template build plus the first ten lessons, at your quoted rates. Lesson one is signed off in full as the template before the rest are cut to match it. - If phase one goes well, the series continues in batches of ten at the same rates. I publish weekly, so there is ongoing work beyond the course for the right person. - Before I award phase one I run a short paid test edit with two or three shortlisted editors: the same footage, the same brief, a flat fee to each of you whether or not you get the job. - Payment is fixed-price milestones released per batch. Project files are handed over as we go, and full commercial rights transfer to me on payment. Finished lessons go into Kajabi, so tell me if you have delivered into a course platform before. Not essential, but useful. I'm in the UK. You can be anywhere, but I need a few hours of overlap in my working day. The full spec and a rate card are attached. Please complete the rate card in your proposal.
