An opportunity to become the voice of a growing documentary YouTube channel We are a documentary-focused YouTube team producing visually driven stories about business, technology, power, society, and extraordinary people. Our videos combine in-depth research, cinematic editing, and strong storytelling to turn complex topics into documentaries that are easy to understand and hard to stop watching. Now, we are expanding our vision with a new English-language channel – and we are looking for the right voice to become a key part of it. Come and help us build a documentary channel for an international audience. We are looking for a native English-speaking Voice Actor / Narrator (Freelancer) who can give our documentaries a distinctive, recognizable voice. This is not traditional commercial voice-over work. Our narration is a central part of the storytelling. We are looking for someone who understands pacing, tension, emotion, pauses, and how small changes in delivery can completely change the impact of a scene. You will work closely with our team to make sure every documentary feels natural, cinematic, and engaging in English. Tasks – Record professional English voice-overs for our YouTube documentaries – Turn scripts into engaging, natural-sounding narration – Adjust pacing, emphasis, tone, and emotion depending on the scene – Deliver everything from calm explanatory sections to dramatic and suspenseful moments – Take direction and implement feedback efficiently – Re-record individual sentences or passages when necessary – Maintain a consistent voice and style across different documentaries – Deliver clean, high-quality audio within agreed deadlines Requirements – Native or near-native English speaker – Professional or semi-professional voice-over / narration experience – Strong storytelling instincts – Excellent understanding of pacing, emphasis, emotion, and vocal dynamics – A voice that works well for long-form documentaries and video essays – Ability to sound natural rather than overly theatrical or like a traditional advertisement – High-quality home recording setup – Reliable communication and ability to meet deadlines – Willingness to work closely with our team and respond to feedback – Genuine interest in documentaries, journalism, business, technology, and social topics Desirable – Previous experience narrating YouTube documentaries or video essays – Experience with channels in the documentary / explainer space – Familiarity with modern YouTube storytelling – Basic understanding of audio editing and mastering – Experience working remotely with international creative teams What we offer – Competitive freelance compensation – Fully remote collaboration – Flexible working hours – Regular projects rather than a one-off recording – Usually 1–2 documentary productions per month – Direct collaboration with our creative team – The opportunity to become the recognizable voice of a new English-language documentary channel – Creative input and the chance to shape the narration style from the beginning – Long-term collaboration if we are a good fit Interested?
