Summary

## Software Requirements Specification (SRS): Vedic Astronomy WPF App## 1. Introduction This document defines the requirements for a Windows Presentation Foundation (WPF) desktop application. The system calculates and visualizes Vedic astronomical data (Jyotisha) based on Surya Siddhanta and modern planetary algorithms. ## 2. System Overview The app computes accurate planetary positions, nakshatras, and dashas using coordinates and timestamps. It renders interactive 2D sky maps, zodiac charts, and real-time transit telemetry. ## 3. Functional Requirements * EPHEMERIS ENGINE: Compute positions for Sun, Moon, and 7 planets using Swiss Ephemeris or Surya Siddhanta models. * AYANAMSA SELECTION: Support Lahiri, Raman, and Fagan-Bradley sidereal zodiac corrections. * CHART GENERATION: Render North Indian (diamond) and South Indian (square) style charts using WPF canvas shapes. * TIME-WHEEL: Provide UI controls to step through time (seconds to years) and observe animated astronomical shifts. * PANCHANGA CALCULATOR: Output the 5 daily elements: Tithi, Vara, Nakshatra, Yoga, and Karana. ## 4. Non-Functional Requirements * PERFORMANCE: UI elements must refresh under 16ms (60 FPS) during time-wheel animations using hardware acceleration. * ACCURACY: Planetary longitude calculations must match standard astronomical data within 1 arcsecond. * ARCHITECTURE: Use MVVM (Model-View-ViewModel) design pattern for clean separation of UI and math logic. * COMPATIBILITY: Target .NET 8.0/9.0 for Windows 10 and 11 environments. ## 5. UI Structure * Main Window: Three-pane layout using WPF Grid and DockPanel. * Left Pane: Coordinate inputs, timezone picker, and date/time controls. * Center Pane: Tabbed view displaying the 2D Sky Map or the Vedic Horoscope Chart. * Right Pane: Data grids showing precise longitudes, Vimshottari Dasha trees, and Panchanga metrics. ------------------------------ To move forward with development, let me know if you would like: * A starter template for the XAML main UI layout * The C# code setup for integrating the Swiss Ephemeris library * A specific MVVM class structure for your ViewModels srs_text = """# Software Requirements Specification (SRS): Vedic Astronomy WPF App ## 1.
