Only freelancers located in the U.S. may apply.U.S. located freelancers only
I am a Washington-based technology employee seeking a confidential legal review of a software side project. I need advice concerning invention assignment, confidentiality and trade-secret obligations, work-for-hire language, restrictive covenants, and the possibility of obtaining a written IP carve-out from my employer. The attorney must be licensed in Washington and have specific experience with employee-created software, technology-company employment agreements, and RCW 49.44.140. The engagement should include review of my signed employment documents, analysis of applicable law and any choice-of-law provision, a written risk assessment, and recommended next steps. Please describe comparable matters you have handled and whether you primarily represent employees, employers, or both. I also need analysis of all restrictive covenants, including noncompetition, customer and employee nonsolicitation, outside-business or moonlighting restrictions, conflicts of interest, duty of loyalty, governing law, and venue. Please address both current Washington law and the amendments effective June 30, 2027, and identify what preparatory activity—development, customer discovery, recruiting, incorporation, or commercialization—is permissible before and after separation.
