Web Copywriter: Full Site review and potential Overhaul | Water-Tech SaaS | AEC / Civil Engineering

Web Copywriter: Full Site Review or potential Overhaul | Water-Tech SaaS | AEC / Civil Engineering ━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━ TEN is an early-stage water-technology company building regulation-aligned SaaS for civil engineers. One of our platforms automates water and wastewater workflows, hydrology, hydraulics, permitting, and I&I detection, and returns the engineer's attention to the work that actually requires one. We're pre-launch, in active beta, and building our web presence from the ground up. We need a copywriter who can craft a full site that speaks credibly to a highly technical audience without sounding like a textbook, and without leaning on client logos, case studies, or social proof we don't have yet. If you've helped a startup find its voice before the market validated it, this project is for you. ━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━ THE PROJECT ━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━ A full website copy overhaul. TEN serves multiple verticals within the AEC and civil engineering space, each with its own workflow pain, its own regulatory pressure, and its own language. Your job is to make one coherent site feel relevant across all of them. Pages include but are not limited to: • Homepage: position TEN clearly and compellingly without relying on credentials we're still earning • Product / platform pages: translate technical automation features into outcomes civil engineers actually care about • Vertical-specific pages or sections: hydrology &hydraulics, Consulting (Custom development), and sewer collection networks • About / mission: communicate the "why" behind a team building serious infrastructure software from scratch • Any additional pages identified in the brief kickoff ━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━ WHO THIS IS FOR ━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━ ✔ You've written for technical B2B products: SaaS, infrastructure, engineering, or adjacent industries ✔ You understand how to write for a product in beta, building authority and trust without overpromising ✔ You've worked with early-stage companies that are still finding their positioning across multiple verticals ✔ You write for buyers who are skeptical of marketing speak: civil engineers, project managers, operators in AEC ✔ You can take a strategy brief and produce structured, conversion-focused copy without being hand-held page by page ✔ You understand that tech-forward doesn't mean jargon-heavy, but clarity is the sophistication ━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━ NOT THE RIGHT FIT IF... ━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━ ✘ Your portfolio is all D2C, lifestyle, or consumer brands, we need B2B technical fluency ✘ You've never written for a product without an established client base or case studies ✘ You default to hype and superlatives, our audience will close the tab ✘ You need a fully defined brand voice handed to you, part of this project is helping us articulate it ✘ You submit AI-generated copy as your own work, we'll know, and it's an immediate disqualifier ━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━ WHAT MAKES THIS INTERESTING ━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━ Water infrastructure is one of the most under loved and overdue spaces in tech. Civil engineers are some of the most technically rigorous buyers on earth. They don't respond to buzzwords, they respond to accuracy and respect for their work. Writing for TEN means learning a niche, earning credibility through precision, and helping shape the voice of a platform that's genuinely trying to change how an industry operates. ━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━ HOW TO APPLY: READ BEFORE SUBMITTING ━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━ Generic proposals will not receive a response. Answer all three questions: 1. Share an example of copy you wrote for a technical B2B product: SaaS, engineering, infrastructure, or similar. What was the audience, what was the core message, and what made the copy work for that specific buyer? 2. Have you written for an early-stage product without case studies or social proof? How did you build credibility and trust in the copy without leaning on validation you didn't have? 3. How do you approach a site with multiple buyer verticals that need to feel unified, not siloed? Include 2–3 portfolio samples relevant to technical or B2B audiences. Portfolios showing only consumer or lifestyle work will not move forward. ━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━ SKILLS & TAGS ━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━ Website Copywriting · B2B SaaS · Technical Writing · Conversion Copywriting · Brand Voice Development · Landing Page Copy · Startup Copywriting · AEC · Civil Engineering · UX Writing ━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━ TEN is building infrastructure software for people who build infrastructure.
