The firm represents pharmaceutical, biotechnology, chemical, medical-device, and other technology companies in complex intellectual property matters, including patent litigation and appeals, Hatch-Waxman and BPCIA litigation, IPR and PGR proceedings, patent prosecution, opinions, licensing and other IP-related agreements, due diligence, trade-secret matters, and strategic intellectual property counseling. The firm also provides trademark and copyright registration and counseling services, as well as representation in Digital Millennium Copyright Act (DMCA) takedown matters and related copyright litigation. The firm and its attorneys have been recognized by the finest worldwide organizations including Chambers & Partners, IAM Patent 1000, LMG Life Sciences, Managing IP/IP Stars, Best Lawyers, and Super Lawyers. PROJECT OBJECTIVE We are seeking an experienced WordPress designer/developer to modernize and improve our existing website rather than undertake an unnecessarily expensive ground-up redevelopment. The finished website should convey the sophistication and experience of a nationally recognized intellectual property boutique while remaining professional, understated, fast and easy to maintain. We generally like the substance and organization of our existing content but want a significantly more contemporary and polished presentation. DESIRED SCOPE The project should include: 1. Modernization of the overall visual design, including typography, spacing, colors, imagery, page layouts and navigation. 2. A redesigned Home page that quickly communicates: o Boutique intellectual property law firm o Pharmaceutical/life-sciences and complex patent expertise o Extensive litigation and technical experience o Nationally recognized attorneys o Big-law capability with boutique service and value 3. Improved presentation of: o Attorney biographies and photographs o Practice/service areas o Industries and technical expertise o Chambers, IAM, LMG Life Sciences, IP Stars and other recognitions o Representative firm accomplishments o News and insights 4. Responsive design optimized for desktop, tablet and mobile devices. 5. Improved website speed, performance and Core Web Vitals where reasonably achievable. 6. Basic technical SEO, including appropriate page titles, meta descriptions, heading structure, sitemap and schema/structured data where appropriate. 7. Review and improvement of website security, contact-form security/spam protection and backup procedures. 8. An easy method for firm personnel to add or modify news items, attorney information and other routine content. 9. Migration/staging and launch of the redesigned site without material interruption of the existing website. 10. Works well with iPhone browsers. EXISTING PLATFORM AND OWNERSHIP We presently use WordPress hosted through GoDaddy and prefer to continue using WordPress unless there is a compelling reason to change. The firm must retain complete ownership and administrative control of the website, WordPress installation, domain, hosting, content, graphics, Google accounts and other website-related assets. We do not want a proprietary platform that makes the firm dependent upon the designer to operate or move the website. ONGOING MAINTENANCE Please separately quote an optional ongoing maintenance arrangement covering: • WordPress, theme and plugin updates • Security monitoring • Backups • Uptime monitoring • Performance monitoring • Troubleshooting • Minor content changes when requested We anticipate a maintenance budget in the range of approximately $75–$125 per month, depending upon the services included.
