We're looking for an experienced Print Production & Book Formatting Specialist to prepare our flagship student-athlete guide for professional printing. This is not a writing or graphic design position. The content and branding are complete. We need someone who can make sure every page is polished, consistent, and print-ready. Responsibilities Prepare a 200+ page guide for professional printing Ensure consistent spacing, margins, typography, and page flow Standardize paragraph styles, headers, subheaders, callouts, bullets, and tables Correct widows, orphans, awkward page breaks, and inconsistent spacing Verify bleed, trim, safe zones, and printer specifications Ensure images print at proper resolution Maintain consistent colors and branding throughout Review page numbering, table of contents, hyperlinks (digital version), and cross-references Create final print-ready PDF files Coordinate revisions through multiple proof rounds Flag formatting issues and recommend improvements without changing the author's voice Qualifications Extensive experience preparing books, guides, magazines, or workbooks for commercial printing Expert knowledge of Adobe InDesign (preferred) Experience with Canva, Affinity Publisher, or Adobe Illustrator is a plus Strong typography and layout skills Exceptional attention to detail Experience working directly with commercial printers Ability to work quickly while maintaining high quality Nice to Have Experience with educational publishing Experience preparing ADA-friendly digital PDFs Familiarity with Amazon KDP and digital publishing requirements Understanding of workbook layouts and interactive PDFs Deliverables Fully formatted print-ready interior Press-quality PDF Packaged source files Final preflight report Printer-ready files meeting commercial print specifications Support through one final proofing round Project Details
