WordPress Hosting Migration

I run a UK web agency managing a portfolio of WordPress websites, mainly straightforward lead-generation websites for local service businesses. I’m currently planning a fairly significant hosting migration and would like an experienced **WordPress hosting / cPanel / DNS / Cloudflare expert** to review the proposed setup, give me independent advice, identify any risks I may have missed, and potentially assist with the migration itself. ### Current setup We currently have around **80 WordPress installations** inside one Hostinger Cloud Professional hosting account. Not all 80 will be migrated. Some are: * temporary/staging sites * old client websites * legacy sites * websites that can remain on Hostinger The active portfolio that will eventually move will therefore be smaller. Most websites are fairly basic WordPress lead-generation websites using things such as: * WordPress * Elementor / Elementor Pro * Wordfence * Rank Math * LiteSpeed Cache * Google Site Kit / GA4 * contact forms * ManageWP ### Current problem All sites are currently sharing the resources of the same Hostinger Cloud Professional environment. The account has around **6 GB RAM**, and we are regularly hitting the RAM ceiling during spikes. One obvious contributor is ManageWP. We use ManageWP for: * backups * plugin updates * theme updates * Safe Updates * monthly client maintenance reports Historically, a large number of updates have run within the same Monday morning window, causing overlapping WordPress updates/backups and resource spikes. We have also seen RAM limits reached outside those windows. I’m also generally unhappy with Hostinger support and the lack of individual cPanel environments for each client website. ### Proposed new setup We are currently speaking with **Clook** about moving to their cPanel reseller hosting. They have suggested their reseller infrastructure, where each website would have: * its own cPanel account * 1 GB RAM * 1 CPU core * isolated resources with the option of boosting selected accounts to: * 2 GB RAM * 2 CPU cores We are currently considering either their: **Reseller Dynasty** * 100 cPanel accounts * 200 GB storage or **Reseller Empire** * 200 cPanel accounts * 300 GB storage Clook has also recommended moving DNS management to **Cloudflare**, rather than keeping DNS tied to the hosting provider. The proposed structure would therefore broadly be: **Domain registrar → Cloudflare DNS → Clook hosting** ManageWP would continue handling WordPress maintenance and client reports. ### What I want from you FIRST Before we migrate anything, I want an experienced person to review this architecture independently. I want you to tell me: 1. Does this sound like a sensible hosting architecture for an agency managing this number and type of WordPress sites? 2. Is individual cPanel isolation with 1 GB RAM / 1 CPU per site suitable for typical Elementor lead-generation websites? 3. Would you recommend the Dynasty plan, Empire plan, a managed cloud server, or something completely different? 4. Is moving DNS centrally to Cloudflare a good idea for an agency portfolio like this? 5. Are there any disadvantages or complications with Cloudflare that I should be aware of? 6. Is there anything fundamentally wrong with the migration plan that either I or Clook may be overlooking? I am specifically looking for someone who is willing to **challenge the plan if necessary**, rather than simply agreeing with what I have already decided. ### DNS / email is extremely important Some clients have: * Google Workspace * Microsoft 365 * Hostinger email * HubSpot * Mailchimp/domain authentication * SPF * DKIM * DMARC * verification TXT records * various CNAME records and subdomains Some domains are controlled by me. Other domains are controlled by clients and currently point to Hostinger either through nameservers or A records. I need someone who properly understands the difference between: * migrating a WordPress website * changing an A record * changing nameservers * moving DNS zones * migrating hosted email * preserving external Google/Microsoft email I cannot have a migration accidentally interrupt a client's business email. ### Proposed migration process The current plan is approximately: 1. Create the new cPanel account at Clook. 2. Take/verify backups. 3. Copy the complete WordPress installation and database. 4. Test the migrated website before DNS changes. 5. Copy/import the existing DNS configuration into Cloudflare where appropriate. 6. Verify MX, SPF, DKIM, DMARC, TXT, CNAME and third-party records. 7. Change nameservers or A records as appropriate. 8. Minimise DNS/downtime. 9. Verify SSL. 10. Test the live website. 11. Test forms. 12. Test business email where applicable. 13. Verify analytics/tracking. 14. Reconnect/update ManageWP/FTP details where necessary. 15. Keep the original Hostinger environment available until the migration is fully verified. We would probably start with **3–5 simple websites**, confirm the process is reliable, then migrate the remaining sites in controlled batches. ### Potential ongoing work Initially I mainly want an **expert consultation/review** of everything above. However, if you clearly know what you are doing and I trust your approach, there could be substantial additional work helping me: * prepare the migration * audit existing DNS * configure Cloudflare * migrate sites * test sites after migration * verify email/DNS * configure cPanel accounts * reconnect ManageWP * troubleshoot migration issues * create an SOP for future website migrations There could also be ongoing WordPress maintenance work afterwards. ### Experience required Please only apply if you have strong hands-on experience with several of the following: * WordPress hosting migrations * WHM / cPanel reseller hosting * Cloudflare DNS * DNS migrations * Google Workspace DNS * Microsoft 365 DNS * SPF / DKIM / DMARC * WordPress troubleshooting * Elementor * ManageWP * LiteSpeed * server/resource limits * website/email migration with minimal downtime This is not primarily a web design job. I need someone who understands **hosting infrastructure and DNS properly**. ### Please answer these questions in your proposal **1. Based on the setup described above, would you personally recommend Clook reseller hosting + individual cPanel accounts + Cloudflare DNS? Why or why not?** **2. Do you see any major risks or mistakes in my proposed migration process?** **3. For typical Elementor lead-generation sites, would you expect 1 GB RAM and 1 CPU per individual cPanel account to be sufficient?** **4. Would you choose the 100-account Dynasty reseller plan, the 200-account Empire plan, or a cloud server for this portfolio? Why?** **5. Have you personally migrated WordPress sites where Google Workspace / Microsoft 365 / HubSpot / Mailchimp DNS records had to remain operational? Please explain briefly.** **6. How would you migrate a website to a new host with as close to zero downtime as possible?** **7. Have you used ManageWP and/or migrated websites that were connected to ManageWP?** **8. If you were responsible for this migration, what would you do differently from the process I have outlined above?** Please don't send a generic proposal. The quality and specificity of your answers to the questions above will be the main thing I use to shortlist people.
