YouTube Channel Research and Outreach Assistant
Worldwide
We are looking for a Philippines-based researcher and outreach assistant to identify suitable YouTube channels where a British media creator could appear as a guest. This role requires strong judgement. We are not looking for someone to scrape large lists of podcasts or collect channels simply because they contain certain keywords. The objective is to find active, personality-led YouTube channels with engaged audiences and an on-camera host. ### Channel requirements Each channel should normally meet all of the following criteria: * Between 3,000 and 30,000 YouTube subscribers * An average of at least 2,000 views per recent video * Presented by someone from the UK, United States or Australia * The presenter or host must regularly appear on camera * The channel must have a clear personality-led or discussion-led format * The channel must feature outside guests, interviews, conversations or collaborations * The channel must have uploaded recently and remain active * The audience should be relevant to discussions about moving abroad, leaving one’s home country, starting again elsewhere, retirement overseas, lifestyle change, relationships, money, property, identity or dissatisfaction with life at home We are open to channels across a wide range of subjects. The quality of the audience fit matters more than placing channels into predetermined categories. ### We are not looking for * Faceless channels * Channels where the presenter is rarely seen * Audio-only podcasts with no meaningful YouTube presence * Inactive channels * Channels averaging fewer than 2,000 views per recent video * Channels with fewer than 3,000 or more than 30,000 subscribers * Channels that do not feature outside guests * Generic scraped podcast lists * Contact details with no explanation of why the opportunity is suitable * Channels presented primarily by hosts outside the UK, United States or Australia ### Your responsibilities * Find suitable YouTube channels matching the criteria * Review recent uploads rather than relying only on subscriber counts * Calculate or estimate average recent views per video * Confirm that the host appears on camera * Confirm that the channel features outside guests or collaborations * Identify the presenter or host * Find the best available contact method * Explain why the creator would be relevant to the channel’s audience * Suggest a suitable discussion angle * Write a personalised opening line for outreach * Record all findings accurately in Google Sheets * Track outreach, replies and follow-ups ### Information required for each channel * Channel name * Channel URL * Presenter or host name * Presenter country * Subscriber count * Views on the most recent 10 standard-length videos * Average views across those videos * Date of most recent upload * Evidence that outside guests appear * Description of the audience * Why the creator would suit the channel * Suggested conversation angle * Best contact route * Contact email or booking page, where available * Personalised outreach opening line * Notes * Status Shorts should not be included when calculating average views unless the channel’s main format is built around Shorts. ### About the creator The creator is a British YouTube presenter and commentator whose work explores the reality of moving abroad, starting again in another country and what happens after the initial excitement wears off. Possible discussion areas include: * Why more people are considering leaving their home countries * Whether moving abroad genuinely improves someone’s life * The difference between reinvention and escape * Starting again overseas * Retirement abroad * Money and property decisions overseas * Relationships and cultural differences * Why people become disillusioned with life at home * What relocation content often fails to explain The exact discussion angle should be adapted to each channel and its audience. ### Application task To apply, please provide two suitable YouTube channels. Every example must: * Have between 3,000 and 30,000 subscribers * Average at least 2,000 views across recent standard-length videos * Have an on-camera presenter from the UK, United States or Australia * Feature outside guests or collaborations * Include an explanation of why the channel is suitable * Include one suggested discussion angle * Include the most likely contact route Please also provide the view counts used to calculate the recent average. Please also include a recent photo and a sentence why you would be a good fit. Applications containing generic lists without proper channel research will not be considered. The role will begin with a paid trial researching 25 qualified channels for which the payment will be $100. Strong performance may lead to ongoing research, outreach and booking work with the goal of becoming full time.
