YouTube Video Creator (Article-to-Video | Voiceover + Found Footage)
Worldwide
We're looking for a creative freelancer to turn existing online articles into engaging YouTube videos. This is not a traditional YouTube producer role involving original filming or camera work. Instead, you'll be working from an existing article and producing a completed YouTube video using a conversational voiceover, found or official footage, product images, gameplay or movie clips (where appropriate), and simple motion graphics. This is a streamlined production workflow designed for efficient, repeatable content creation. If you're looking for a role producing highly cinematic videos with original footage, this probably isn't the right fit. RESPONSIBILITIES For each assignment, you'll receive a published article. Your responsibilities will include adapting the article into an engaging YouTube script, recording a clear and natural voiceover, sourcing supporting visuals, editing a polished YouTube video, and delivering a final publish-ready master. Video length will vary depending on the topic, but most videos will typically fall between 5 and 20 minutes. EXAMPLE TOPICS Batman: https://www.digitaltrends.com/movies/batman-every-live-action-version-ranked/ Spider-Man: https://www.digitaltrends.com/movies/spider-man-actors-in-order/ Resident Evil: https://www.digitaltrends.com/gaming/best-resident-evil-games-ranked/ Call of Duty: https://www.digitaltrends.com/gaming/best-call-of-duty-games/ Pokémon: https://www.digitaltrends.com/gaming/best-pokemon-games-ranked/ VISUAL SOURCING You'll primarily work with official trailers, official gameplay footage, publisher or manufacturer assets, press images, licensed stock footage, and simple motion graphics. This role requires someone who knows how to source visuals efficiently while keeping videos engaging and visually dynamic. COPYRIGHT & YOUTUBE KNOWLEDGE A strong understanding of YouTube copyright and Content ID best practices is required. You should know how to use short, transformative clips, avoid excessive use of copyrighted footage, source visuals responsibly, and create videos intended to remain eligible for YouTube monetization. REQUIREMENTS Strong English writing skills are required, along with experience adapting articles into conversational YouTube scripts. You should also have experience recording voiceovers, editing long-form YouTube videos, independently sourcing visuals, and understanding YouTube pacing, audience engagement, and retention. Experience producing technology, gaming, or entertainment content is a plus. BUDGET & OPPORTUNITY This is intended to be a high-volume, streamlined production workflow rather than a premium custom video production role. Please apply only if you're comfortable working within a lower per-video budget in exchange for the opportunity to receive ongoing, consistent work. For the right candidate, we'd like to transition from individual project pricing to a monthly retainer based on a consistent production schedule. Our goal is to build a long-term relationship with someone who can become a reliable extension of our team. When applying, please include your expected rate for a completed video, noting that pricing may vary based on video length and complexity. Also include your weekly availability and whether you'd be interested in transitioning to a monthly retainer if the pilot is successful. PILOT PROJECT Shortlisted candidates will complete a paid pilot using the same article so we can evaluate script adaptation, voiceover quality, editing, visual sourcing, and overall YouTube presentation. The strongest candidate will be offered ongoing work. TO APPLY Please send links to 2–3 similar YouTube videos you've produced from start to finish. Briefly describe your role on each project, the editing software you primarily use, your expected pricing for a typical project, and your average turnaround time.
