## YouTube Video Editor Needed – Marvel & DC Comic Explainer Channel I'm looking for a **video editor for a faceless YouTube channel** focused on the darkest, strangest, and most interesting versions of Marvel and DC superheroes. The videos will be around **8–12 minutes long** and will generally cover around 8 different characters/versions per video. This is **not a highly complicated editing style**. The main focus is presenting comic panels and artwork in a clean, engaging way that complements the voiceover. ### Reference Video / Editing Style Please watch this video to understand the editing style I'm looking for: **https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_Ip0s7LMM04&t=630s** The editing should be similar to this — **simple, clean, and focused on the comics themselves** rather than lots of flashy effects. ### What the Editing Will Involve Most of the video will consist of: * Comic book panels/images matching what is being discussed in the voiceover * **Slow pans and zooms across comic panels** to keep static images visually interesting * Moving between different panels as the story progresses * Occasional highlighting/cropping of specific characters or details * Simple transitions * Basic text or labels when appropriate * Background music and basic audio balancing * Keeping the visuals closely synchronized with what the narrator is discussing * Creating a **simple thumbnail for each video** The scriptwriter will provide **comic series/issue references throughout the script** to help you locate the correct source material and panels. However, you should still be comfortable **finding and selecting appropriate comic panels yourself** based on those references. ### Thumbnail Design You'll also be responsible for providing the **thumbnail for each video**, but the thumbnail style is intentionally very simple. In most cases, the thumbnail should essentially be a **clean, high-quality screenshot/export of the opening frame of the finished video**, so this shouldn't require extensive additional graphic design work. The important thing is making sure the opening frame is composed well enough that it can also function as a clear and clickable YouTube thumbnail. ### What I'm Looking For You should: * Have previous **YouTube video editing experience** * Be comfortable editing **faceless/voiceover-based content** * Know how to make static comic panels visually engaging using **slow pans, zooms, crops, and movement** * Have good visual judgment when deciding which panels should accompany each part of the narration * Be able to follow comic references provided in the script and find suitable visuals * Understand pacing and know when to change the image/panel to maintain viewer attention * Be able to create the simple thumbnail/opening-frame design described above * Be reliable and able to maintain a consistent editing style across videos Experience with **Marvel, DC, comics, superheroes, anime, manga, lore, or similar content** is a major plus. ### To Apply Please send: 1. Examples of **YouTube videos you've previously edited**, especially faceless, comic, anime, manga, documentary, explainer, or lore-style content. 2. What editing software you use. 3. Your rate for editing an **8–12 minute video, including the thumbnail**. 4. Your typical turnaround time. 5. A brief description of any experience you have working with **comic book or similar image-based content**. **You must either provide relevant examples of your previous editing work or be willing to complete a short editing sample.** For the sample, I'll provide a short section of voiceover/script and ask you to edit it in the style of the reference video. I'm looking for an editor who can potentially work with the channel **long term**, so reliability, consistency, and the ability to follow the established visual style are important.
