# cTrader Developer Required – Multi-Instrument EMA, MACD and DMI Screener I require an experienced **cTrader Automate / C# developer** to build a multi-instrument screener. This is a screener and alerting tool only. It must not place trades. ## Main Objective The screener must continuously scan selected cTrader instruments and identify when the following trend, MACD and DMI conditions are present. The instrument list and timeframes must be configurable. Initial timeframes: * 1 Hour * 10 Minutes ## Moving-Average Conditions Use: * 18-period moving average * 40-period moving average The moving-average type should be configurable, with EMA as the default. ### Long Trend The screener must identify when: * 18 MA is above the 40 MA. * 18 MA is rising. * 40 MA is rising. * Both moving averages are approximately parallel. * The distance between the moving averages is stable or increasing. ### Short Trend The screener must identify when: * 18 MA is below the 40 MA. * 18 MA is declining. * 40 MA is declining. * Both moving averages are approximately parallel. * The distance between the moving averages is stable or increasing. The developer must create configurable measurements for: * MA slope * MA parallelism * MA separation The screener should reject or flag conditions where the moving averages are flattening, converging or crossing. ## MACD Conditions The standard MACD contains: * Blue MACD line * Red signal line * Zero line The exact MACD settings must be configurable. ### Long MACD Conditions For a valid long condition: * MACD must be above the zero line. * Blue MACD line must be rising. * Blue MACD line must be above the red signal line. ### Short MACD Conditions For a valid short condition: * MACD must be below the zero line. * Blue MACD line must be declining. * Blue MACD line must be below the red signal line. The dashboard must clearly display whether each MACD condition has passed or failed. ## DMI Confirmation The screener must monitor price structure and compare it with the relevant Directional Indicator line. The DMI colours are: * Blue DI = bullish directional movement, normally +DI. * Red DI = bearish directional movement, normally −DI. ### Long DMI Confirmation When price makes a new confirmed high: * The screener must identify the new price high. * Blue DI must also make a new high above its previous relevant Blue DI high. * The screener must alert when both price and Blue DI confirm the new high. Example alert: **EURUSD – Long DMI Confirmation** * Price made a new high. * Blue DI made a new high above its previous high. * Bullish directional movement confirmed. If price makes a new high but Blue DI does not exceed its previous relevant high, the screener must show: **Price high not confirmed by Blue DI.** ### Short DMI Confirmation When price makes a new confirmed low: * The screener must identify the new price low. * Red DI must make a new high above its previous relevant Red DI high. * The screener must alert when the new price low is confirmed by stronger bearish directional movement. Example alert: **XAUUSD – Short DMI Confirmation** * Price made a new low. * Red DI made a new high above its previous high. * Bearish directional movement confirmed. If price makes a new low but Red DI does not exceed its previous relevant high, the screener must show: **Price low not confirmed by Red DI.** ## Pivot and Comparison Logic The algorithm must use confirmed price and DMI pivots rather than comparing only the current value with the previous candle. For longs: 1. Identify the previous confirmed price high. 2. Record the relevant Blue DI peak associated with that price move. 3. Identify the new confirmed price high. 4. Compare the new Blue DI peak with the previous Blue DI peak. 5. Confirm only when the new Blue DI peak is higher. For shorts: 1. Identify the previous confirmed price low. 2. Record the relevant Red DI peak associated with that price move. 3. Identify the new confirmed price low. 4. Compare the new Red DI peak with the previous Red DI peak. 5. Confirm only when the new Red DI peak is higher. The pivot lookback and confirmation sensitivity must be configurable. ## Screener Dashboard The dashboard should display: | Field | Description | | --------------------- | ------------------------------------- | | Symbol | Instrument name | | Timeframe | Chart timeframe | | Direction | Long or short | | 18 MA slope | Rising or declining | | 40 MA slope | Rising or declining | | MA relationship | Parallel, converging or diverging | | MACD zero-line status | Above or below zero | | MACD direction | Rising or declining | | MACD versus signal | Blue above red or blue below red | | Price structure | New high, new low or no new structure | | DMI confirmation | Confirmed or not confirmed | | Alert status | Active or waiting | | Last update | Time of latest completed-bar scan | ## Alerts The screener should provide configurable: * cTrader popup alerts * Sound alerts * Optional email or Telegram alerts Alerts should trigger when: ### Long Alert * 18 and 40 MAs are rising and parallel. * 18 MA is above 40 MA. * MACD is above zero. * Blue MACD line is rising. * Blue MACD line is above the red signal line. * Price makes a new high. * Blue DI makes a new high above its previous Blue DI high. ### Short Alert * 18 and 40 MAs are declining and parallel. * 18 MA is below 40 MA. * MACD is below zero. * Blue MACD line is declining. * Blue MACD line is below the red signal line. * Price makes a new low. * Red DI makes a new high above its previous Red DI high. Duplicate alerts must be prevented. The software should use completed candles by default to reduce false or repainting alerts. ## Initial Instruments The first version should support: * NASDAQ * BTCUSD * XAUUSD * WTI Oil * EURUSD * GBPUSD Symbol names must be configurable because brokers use different naming conventions. ## Deliverables * Full C# source code * Compiled cTrader Algo file * Installation instructions * User guide * Configurable inputs * Clear error logging * Commented source code * Testing on historical and live/demo data * One revision period after initial delivery Please include: * Examples of previous cTrader or C# trading tools. * Experience building multi-symbol screeners. * Explanation of how you will calculate MA parallelism. * Explanation of how you will match price highs/lows with DMI peaks. * Estimated delivery time. * Fixed-price quotation.
