Summary

About the work We are a direct-to-consumer cookware brand selling in the US. We have a growing amount of open-box and customer-return inventory sitting in our US warehouse. The products are in good condition and fully functional. Most came back because the customer expected a different size or feel, not because anything is wrong with the product. We want to open an eBay storefront to move this inventory properly instead of liquidating it at a loss. We are looking for someone who has actually run an eBay store before and knows how to list open-box goods without triggering returns and account penalties. This starts as a paid pilot with a small batch. If it works, it becomes an ongoing monthly engagement. What you will do Account setup and structure Set up or optimize our US eBay seller account, including business policies for shipping, returns, and payments Advise on store subscription tier based on our expected listing volume Plan around new-seller selling limits and build a ramp to increase them Listing creation Research the right category, item specifics, and competitive pricing for each SKU Write listing titles built around how buyers actually search for cookware, including size, material, and type Write accurate, detailed condition descriptions for open-box items Fill out every relevant item specific so listings surface in filtered search Build a reusable listing template we can scale Accuracy is the most important part of this role. Our returns come from size and structure expectations. Every listing must state the exact rim diameter, the actual cooking surface diameter, height, weight, handle length, and whether it is induction and oven safe. If a buyer can be surprised by it, it goes in the description. Photography Coordinate photography of actual units, not stock images, since these are open-box Provide a simple shot list our warehouse team can follow, or handle editing if we send raw photos Include at least one scale reference shot per listing Shipping and fulfillment Configure shipping profiles correctly for heavy and bulky items, including calculated shipping and dimensional weight Work with our 3PL to make sure orders are picked, packed, and dispatched inside eBay's handling time Keep on-time shipping and tracking upload metrics clean Ongoing management Respond to buyer messages within eBay's expected window Handle returns, cases, and disputes Monitor seller performance metrics, especially Item Not as Described rate and defect rate Reprice and refresh slow-moving listings Manage Promoted Listings if we agree to run them Keep inventory counts in sync with the warehouse so we do not oversell Reporting Weekly summary covering units listed, units sold, sell-through rate, average sale price, net revenue after eBay fees and shipping, and any account health flags Requirements Proven experience running a US eBay seller account. We will ask for store links and feedback scores. Direct experience listing used, open-box, or refurbished inventory Strong working knowledge of eBay Seller Hub, business policies, and item specifics Clear understanding of how Item Not as Described claims work and how listing copy prevents them Comfortable calculating shipping costs for heavy items and understanding how that affects margin Experience coordinating with a warehouse or 3PL Good written English, since you will be writing customer-facing copy and replying to buyers Enough US timezone overlap to keep buyer response times healthy Nice to have Home & Garden or Kitchen category experience Experience with bulk listing or multichannel tools such as Sellbrite, Inkfrog, Listing Mirror, or ChannelAdvisor Product photography and editing skills Experience taking a new seller account from zero to consistent volume How we will start Phase 1, paid pilot: Set up the account and business policies, then list an initial batch of 15 to 20 units. We review listing quality, sell-through, and buyer feedback. Phase 2, ongoing: If the pilot performs, we move to a monthly engagement covering listing, buyer communication, account health, and reporting. How to apply Please skip generic proposals. We read every application and we can tell. Answer the questions below and we will reply to everyone who does. SCREENING QUESTIONS Share links to eBay stores you have managed, along with the feedback score and roughly how many listings you handled. If the accounts are private, describe them in detail and tell us what you can share on a call. Write a sample condition description, around 100 words, for a 12 inch nonstick frying pan that a customer returned unused because it was smaller than they expected. Assume the pan itself is in perfect condition. What is your approach to keeping the Item Not as Described rate low on open-box listings? Be specific. What tools do you use for bulk listing, inventory sync, and repricing? What is your timezone, and what hours are you available to respond to buyer messages? Have you sold heavy or bulky items on eBay before? How do you handle shipping cost so it does not eat the margin?
