CA for Indian Fintech Startup

Title Chartered Accountant for Indian FinTech Startup. Bookkeeping, Compliance, GST, MCA and Strategic Finance Job Description We are building Benefiqs, an Indian fintech startup focused on helping consumers maximize the value of their credit cards through rewards, offers, and intelligent spending insights. We are looking for an experienced Chartered Accountant who has worked with venture-backed startups or fintech companies in India. This is a long-term engagement. We need someone who takes ownership of finance and compliance instead of simply filing returns. Responsibilities Accounting and Bookkeeping • Maintain books of accounts using Zoho Books or Tally. • Record all financial transactions accurately. • Perform monthly bank reconciliations. • Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable. • Maintain fixed asset register. • Prepare monthly financial statements and management reports. GST and Tax Compliance • Prepare and file GST returns. • Reconcile GST input tax credit. • Handle TDS calculations and filings. • Prepare advance tax computations. • Coordinate with auditors during statutory and tax audits. • Support income tax return preparation. MCA and Corporate Compliance • Ensure Companies Act compliance. • Prepare and file ROC and MCA forms. • Maintain statutory registers and board documentation. • Support annual filings and compliance calendar. • Coordinate with Company Secretary when required. Payroll and Employee Compliance • Process payroll. • Manage PF, ESI and Professional Tax compliance where applicable. • Calculate employee reimbursements and expense claims. Financial Planning • Prepare monthly MIS reports. • Build cash flow forecasts. • Track burn rate and runway. • Prepare investor-ready financial reports. • Assist with budgeting and financial planning. • Support due diligence for fundraising. Startup Finance • Maintain ESOP records if required. • Support DPIIT Startup India compliance. • Advise founders on finance best practices. • Help establish internal financial controls. • Recommend accounting and finance automation tools. Requirements • Qualified Chartered Accountant. • Minimum 5 years of experience after qualification. • Experience working with Indian fintech startups is mandatory. • Strong knowledge of Companies Act, GST, Income Tax, TDS and MCA compliance. • Experience with startup fundraising, investor reporting or VC-backed companies is preferred. • Proficiency with Zoho Books, Tally, Excel and Google Sheets. • Excellent written and spoken English. • Strong attention to detail. • Ability to work independently and meet deadlines. Good to Have • Experience with RBI regulated fintech businesses. • Experience working with payment aggregators, lending platforms, wealthtech or personal finance startups. • Knowledge of FEMA, data privacy and startup legal structures. • Experience with Angel Tax, ESOPs and Startup India benefits. • Familiarity with Razorpay, Cashfree or other payment gateway reconciliations. Deliverables • Monthly bookkeeping completed by the agreed deadline. • Accurate financial statements. • GST, TDS and all statutory filings submitted on time. • Compliance calendar maintained. • Monthly MIS shared with founders. • Cash flow and burn rate report. • Annual financial statements ready for audit. Engagement • Long-term engagement. • Remote. • Approximately 15 to 25 hours per month initially, with scope to increase as the company grows.
