Structural Engineer for Ongoing U.S. Residential Projects – Drawings & Calculations We are looking for an experienced Structural Engineer / Structural Designer to work with us on an ongoing basis for residential projects in the United States. Our goal is to build a long-term relationship with a reliable structural professional who can take architectural plans and develop a complete, coordinated structural package—including structural design, detailed drawings, and engineering calculation reports. You should have prior experience working specifically on U.S. residential projects and be familiar with typical American wood-frame construction and applicable building codes. What You'll Work On Depending on the project, your responsibilities will include: Review architectural drawings and determine the appropriate structural system Foundation design and detailing Floor and roof framing plans Beam, header, joist, rafter, column, and post sizing Wood-frame structural design Shear wall and lateral system design Wind and seismic load analysis, where applicable Connection, hold-down, anchorage, and structural details Structural sections, schedules, notes, and specifications Coordination of structural drawings with architectural plans Preparation of complete structural calculation reports Revisions based on architectural changes Responses/revisions for permit or plan-check comments The final package should be suitable for permit/construction documentation, subject to the requirements of the applicable jurisdiction. Required Experience We are specifically looking for someone with: Proven experience in U.S. residential structural design Strong knowledge of wood-frame residential construction Experience preparing structural drawings and calculation packages Understanding of applicable IRC/IBC, ASCE 7, NDS, SDPWS, ACI and related U.S. standards Ability to interpret architectural drawings and independently develop structural solutions Strong structural detailing and drawing coordination skills Experience with AutoCAD is important. Experience with Revit, Enercalc, WoodWorks, RISA, Bluebeam, or similar structural software is a plus. PE License A U.S. PE license is a strong advantage but is not mandatory for all roles.
