Summary

I am looking for a video editor to produce a complete faceless YouTube video for Tell Verite, a protective intelligence and investigative research company. The video examines the online harassment faced by World Cup players and FIFA’s system for monitoring, filtering and investigating that abuse. The final narration will be approximately five to six minutes long. This is serious editorial content intended for public education and general interest. It should be engaging, but it should not resemble influencer content or an automatically generated stock-footage video. **What I will provide** * Final edited narration * Complete script and transcript * Tell Verite brand guidelines * Logo and several existing graphics * Research sources and reports * General direction for the story and visual tone **Primary responsibility** The editor will be responsible for developing the complete visual presentation around the narration. The materials I provide will not include enough visuals to cover the entire video. You will need to: * Find relevant B-roll, photographs and other usable visual material * Create original animated statistics, diagrams and text graphics * Use report excerpts, headlines or source screenshots where appropriate * Add movement to still images through careful cropping, highlighting, panning or zooming * Decide which visual approach best supports each part of the narration * Maintain visual variety without relying on unrelated or generic footage I am looking for someone who can interpret the script and make thoughtful editorial choices, not simply place automatically selected stock clips over the narration. **Visual style** The finished video should feel like a professionally produced short documentary or investigative explainer. Please use: * Restrained motion graphics * Clean data visualization * Relevant B-roll * Source documents and report excerpts * Subtle movement on still images * Professional, unobtrusive transitions * Tell Verite’s supplied colors, typography and brand guidelines Please avoid: * Influencer-style editing * Constant zooms or exaggerated transitions * Emojis, memes or reaction graphics * Captions that animate every spoken word * AI avatars or synthetic presenters * Graphic displays of abusive messages * Sensational treatment of harassment, racism, threats or mental health * Generic footage that does not meaningfully connect to the narration * Fully automated script-to-video output **Copyright and licensing requirements** Copyright safety is a major requirement for this project. Every outside asset must be cleared for commercial use in a monetized YouTube video. Preferred visual sources include: * Original graphics and animations created for the project * Properly licensed commercial stock footage * Public-domain material from verifiable sources * Creative Commons material when its specific license permits commercial adaptation * Source documents or screenshots used briefly and transformatively for commentary Do not use: * Clips downloaded from YouTube * Television or sports broadcast footage * News footage without a commercial license * Social media videos or photographs without permission * Music, images or footage with unclear ownership * Assets found through Google Images without tracing and verifying the original source * Material assumed to be protected by fair use without discussing it with me first For every outside asset, please provide: * The original source * The creator or licensing platform * The applicable license * A link, receipt or other record showing that it was licensed for this project Music must also be licensed for commercial YouTube use and should not create an unresolved Content ID claim. If an asset used by the editor causes a copyright or Content ID claim, the editor must help resolve the claim or replace the asset without an additional editing charge. **Deliverables** * Completed 16:9 YouTube video in 1080p or higher * Editable project files * Copies or links for all externally sourced assets * A complete source and license list * One version without burned-in captions * Up to two reasonable revision rounds **Ideal experience** I would especially like to hear from editors who have worked on: * Documentary or investigative YouTube videos * News or current-affairs explainers * Serious social-impact content * Faceless channels built around visual storytelling * Branded motion graphics and data visualization * Projects requiring careful media licensing and source tracking When applying, please begin your proposal with the words “Context matters.” Include two or three examples that best match this style. Please also briefly explain: 1. How you would keep a five-to-six-minute faceless video visually engaging without making it sensational. 2. Where you normally obtain B-roll, music and photographs. 3. How you document licensing and protect clients from copyright claims. This may lead to ongoing work if the first project is a good fit.
