In-person Mandarin-English interpreter for business meetings in Taipei, Aug 23-27

ABOUT THE WORK I'm the Head of Procurement at BookDrop, a US company that buys used and surplus books in bulk and resells them in the American market. I'll be in Taiwan from August 22-27 meeting book vendors, and I need a Mandarin-English interpreter for in-person meetings. I speak English only. These are working business negotiations, so I need consecutive interpretation for live conversation - not document translation, and not casual conversational help. SCHEDULE All times are Taiwan time. Each meeting runs roughly 1.5-2.5 hours; please budget a half-day for each including travel. Confirmed need: - Monday, Aug 24, 3:00pm - used bookstore, Shilin, Taipei. - Thursday, Aug 27, 10:00am - used-book company, Xinzhuang, New Taipei City. Possible, not yet confirmed: - Sunday, Aug 23, 2:00pm - used-book chain, central Taipei. Warehouse visit and commercial terms. - Wednesday, Aug 26, 10:00am - same company as Aug 23. This one would be a contract discussion: final quantities, terms, and a deposit. That company has told me they can provide English-speaking staff, so I may not need interpretation on the 23rd and 26th. I would still like to know your availability and price for those two dates, because for a contract conversation I may prefer to have my own interpreter in the room. Tuesday Aug 25 is free - that vendor is also providing their own English-speaking staff. I would prefer one person across all dates. Continuity matters, particularly across the two meetings with the same company on the 23rd and the 26th - the first sets up the second, and I want someone in the room for both who knows what was already said. That said, if you can only cover some of the dates, tell me which; partial availability is still useful. SUBJECT MATTER Bulk used-book purchasing. Expect vocabulary around inventory and stock lists, per-unit and wholesale pricing, book condition grading, categories and genres, packing and boxing, container shipping and freight forwarding, and payment terms including deposits. Nothing technical beyond the book trade and basic logistics. If the August 26 meeting goes ahead it will involve contract language, so precision matters more than speed that day. WHAT I'M LOOKING FOR - Native or near-native Mandarin, and fluent spoken English - Genuine experience interpreting live business meetings and negotiations. Please be specific about this in your proposal - document translation experience alone is not what I need here - Based in Taipei and able to travel to Xinzhuang for the Aug 27 meeting. Please factor travel into your rate - Comfortable being an active participant: asking a speaker to repeat or clarify, and telling me when something is ambiguous or when a phrase doesn't translate cleanly. I would rather have an interpreter who interrupts than one who smooths things over PRACTICAL NOTES Please quote two ways: a price for the full engagement, and a per-meeting price in case the schedule shifts.
