4 thumbnails

Hello, We are La Nouvelle École, a French YouTube channel specializing in 3D printing and drones (tests, reviews, tutorials). For our upcoming review of the Hover Air Aqua drone, we are looking for a graphic designer to create 4 thumbnails corresponding to 4 different titles for an A/B test. The assignment: Create 4 thumbnails, one for each title: 1. Ce drone décolle depuis l'EAU (et il n'a aucun concurrent) 2. 1500€ pour ce drone étanche... j'ai failli le perdre 3. 99% des pilotes ne devraient PAS acheter ce drone 4. Un drone étanche à 1500€ : coup de génie ou piège à touristes ? Important: The goal is to test 4 truly distinct visual angles (product "wow" factor, emotion/fear, warning, dilemma), not just 4 variations of the same image with a color tweak or minor detail change. The drone must be instantly recognizable in every thumbnail; fortunately, it features a large, highly identifiable orange tube that stands out perfectly against the water. The selected freelancer will receive the full video script, along with photos of the presenter and the drone. If you need specific shots (facial expressions, product angles), just let us know we can produce the necessary photos. Our creative requirements: • Thumbnail text must NEVER repeat the title. The title already appears below the thumbnail; the text should complement it, not duplicate it. • Legibility within 0.3 seconds at "postage stamp" size. Most views come from mobile devices. Before delivery, shrink each thumbnail to 15% of its original size: if the message isn't understood instantly, it needs reworking. • One idea per thumbnail. Two ideas = a muddled message. • A single focal point. The eye must know immediately where to land: a face, a product, OR a number—not all three competing for attention. Strict hierarchy: main element (60–70% of attention), secondary element, text. Anything that doesn't serve the message gets cut. • Contrast takes precedence over aesthetics (without looking ugly). • Consistency with the channel's existing thumbnail identity: youtube.com/@la_nouvelle_ecole Deliverables: • 4 thumbnails at 1280 × 720 px (JPG/PNG) • Source files (PSD, Figma, or equivalent; organized layers) • 2-step process: concept/sketch proposal for approval, followed by final production • 2 rounds of revisions included per thumbnail If the collaboration works out, this will be an ongoing arrangement: we plan to publish two videos per week and systematically test multiple thumbnails for each video.
