Yes maybe, but after 10 years in this space, I knew something was missing. I noticed a trend across the board: Companies were getting TRAPPED by toys and gimmicks, and a pattern began to emerge in every industry. Everyone was focusing too much on one thing (whether that was ads, SEO, social, some kind of marketing platform, email), even as it created diminishing returns after a while. At some point, the money pouring into their efforts returned gains that definitely got smaller. No one was concentrating on customer intent, or who they were talking to.
