Project Overview: I'm seeking an experienced copy editor for a completed nonfiction memoir manuscript (~42,000 words, 18 chapters plus front/back matter). The manuscript has already been through structural and developmental editing — I need a copy editor for grammar, punctuation, consistency, and line-level polish, not content restructuring. Scope of Work: Full copy edit for grammar, spelling, punctuation, and consistency (terminology, formatting, chapter numbering) Track Changes in Google Docs/Word One round of edits, plus review of any clarifying queries Brief edit summary/style notes upon completion Ideal Candidate: Proven experience copy editing full-length nonfiction or memoir manuscripts Comfortable working in Google Docs with Track Changes Strong attention to consistency across a long document Can commit to a defined turnaround timeline (to be discussed) Timeline: Prompt start preferred; not an urgent same-week turnaround, but looking to begin soon.
