Drupal Expert Needed: Deploy Existing Drupal Site from Tarball to New Host (Composer Issues)

Type: Hourly · Expected duration: Less than 1 month · Hours: ~10–20 total Experience level: Expert We're a digital marketing agency taking over hosting for a client's existing Drupal website from their previous agency. The previous agency provided a full tarball export: site files, database dump, and admin credentials. The problem: Our first attempt to deploy failed at composer install — multiple package failures during extraction, dependency resolution, and installation. Before exporting, the previous agency removed several of their proprietary/licensed modules (CRM webform integration, anti-spam, Mailgun, call-tracking, etc.), and we believe the composer files still reference removed or private packages. Scope of work: Deploy the site from the tarball to our hosting environment and get it fully rendering (theme, content, images, menus) Resolve or work around the Composer dependency failures (repair composer.json, or deploy with the included vendor directory) Restore outbound email for webforms — the previous Mailgun integration was removed; set up SMTP module with credentials we provide (or recommend SendGrid/Postmark) Verify Drupal core + module versions, flag any security updates needed Document what you did so our team can maintain the site Nice to have (possible follow-on work): replacing stock images, reconnecting webform → CRM (Service Assistant 5), swapping in our Google Tag Manager container. Requirements: Deep experience with Drupal 8/9/10 site migrations and Composer-based workflows Comfortable deploying from raw files + DB dump (not just fresh installs) Experience with cPanel/VPS/your-stack (we'll share server details with the hire) Available to start within 2–3 business days — the old host takes the site down mid-August We're an agency — if this goes well, we have ongoing Drupal maintenance work.
