Summary

We are looking for an experienced grant strategist and writer who wants to become a long-term partner in bringing a promising neuroscience technology to market. Our team of neuroscientists and clinicians has spent years developing an AI-driven platform that transforms a brief EEG recording into sophisticated quantitative analyses of brain function, including predictive measures related to behavior and neurological and psychiatric conditions. This is not an idea-stage startup. The technology is built and operational. It is already being used in a real-world neuroscience/mental health clinical setting, has been tested on patients, and the software is already available through the major app stores in preparation for broader commercialization. We believe the core technology has substantial commercial and scientific potential. What we need now is the R&D funding to validate it at much larger scale, expand its capabilities, conduct prospective studies, build additional models and features, and generate the evidence necessary for widespread adoption. That is why we are looking for someone who sees the opportunity to help us build a multi-year non-dilutive funding pipeline, rather than simply write one grant. What We Need From You Our scientific team will do much of the heavy lifting on the science. You do not need to create the neuroscience or research strategy from scratch. We need you to: Continuously identify strong funding opportunities, particularly NIH, NSF, DoD, ARPA-H, DARPA, SBIR/STTR, foundations, and other substantial non-dilutive programs Prioritize opportunities where we have a realistic chance of success Manage deadlines, requirements, registrations, budgets, documents, portals, and submission logistics Help develop commercialization and other non-scientific sections Heavily edit and strengthen scientific drafts produced by our team Coordinate complete, compliant, persuasive submissions Manage resubmissions and Phase II/follow-on opportunities after Phase I awards We are primarily interested in opportunities worth $250K+, with the ultimate goal of pursuing multiple seven-figure Phase II and other major awards. Why This Role May Be Different You will be working directly with experienced scientists and clinicians who can generate the technical content, study designs, analyses, preliminary results, and scientific rationale. We already have the technology. We already have the scientific team. We already have real-world clinical deployment. We need someone exceptional at turning those assets into funded applications. Compensation: Small Retainer + Significant Success Upside We are an early-stage company preserving our capital for R&D, so this role will not make sense for someone seeking a large consulting retainer. Instead, we want someone whose incentives are aligned with ours: $500/month ongoing retainer + 5% success bonus on funding secured through applications you materially support. That means: $500K funded = $25,000 bonus $1M funded = $50,000 bonus $2M funded = $100,000 bonus The success bonus is paid from company operating funds and becomes payable as awarded funds are actually received by the company, rather than merely upon an award announcement. For the right person, our goal is for this to become a long-term, highly lucrative relationship built around a continuing pipeline of Phase I, Phase II, and larger funding opportunities. Who We Want We are particularly interested in people with successful experience involving: NIH/NSF SBIR/STTR, DoD/CDMRP, ARPA-H, DARPA, BARDA, neuroscience, digital health, medical technology, AI/ML, or related federal R&D programs. You should be comfortable proactively finding opportunities rather than waiting for us to send them to you. To Apply Please keep your response brief and tell us: What successful federal grants or SBIR/STTR awards have you personally helped secure? Please include approximate award amounts and your role. Which federal agencies or funding mechanisms do you know best? Are you comfortable working with scientists who produce much of the initial technical content while you manage, edit, strengthen, and coordinate the overall application? Are you comfortable with the $500/month + 5% success bonus structure? We are not looking for someone to complete a single application. We are looking for the person who can become our long-term non-dilutive funding partner and help us take an already-functioning neuroscience technology through its next stage of validation and commercialization.
