Tasks and Deliverables -Check client insurance coverage and prior doctor prescriptions before the massage session. -Enter correct CPT, ICD-10, and HCPCS codes for medical massage therapy. -Submit clean electronic insurance claims through a clearinghouse. -Track and appeal denied or rejected claims with insurance companies. -Bill clients for remaining copays, deductibles, or un-reimbursed balances. Skills Required -Knowledge of medical terminology and specialized massage therapy billing rules. -High attention to detail to prevent claim rejections. -Proficiency with electronic health records (EHR) and billing software. -Strong problem-solving and analytical abilities for handling accounts receivable. -Strict compliance with HIPAA privacy and healthcare regulations. -Good Communication -Explain insurance benefits, deductibles, and client financial responsibilities in simple terms. -Call or message insurance agents calmly and clearly to fix claim errors. -Coordinate smoothly with the massage therapist about missing clinical notes or treatment updates.
